NUBE 9 IS A BARCELONA BASED DNB JUNGLE COLLECTIVE ORIGINALLY BORN UNDER A DIFFERENT HEADING BACK IN 2004. SINCE THEN THE COLLECTIVE HAS RUN NUMEROUS CLUB NIGHTS AND HAVE BEEN BROADCASTING WEEKLY OVER THE INTERNET FOR THE LAST THREE YEARS. Moved to London in 1989, where she stayed for more than 10 years, and got to sing with some talented musicians and producers of the Funk, Jazz, Blues, World music scene. Some vocal training and loads of live performin' gave her strength (live sessions at the Vibe bar-Brick Lane, Brixton Academy, the Blue Note-Hoxton Sq..), and later on her way thorough "Community Music" (where she met and played with the Asian Dub Foundation and other musicians of the underground scene) openned a new musical chapter for her. From then on, she started workin' with electronic music, as well as bands, and did some free-style live sessions with house-funk, DnB, garage, breakbeat...Dj's and producers. Back to Barcelona about 7 years ago, carried on freestyling along with house-Funk, downtempo, Dubstep and DnB Dj's, and did some studio work with different producers (two of her songs appeared on the compilation album DUBZ, by Dubcelona '04). Has been lead vocalist in some bands (Low Poison, Dreamlab, Mr.Soul..), formal lead singer of the electro-Dub-Funk project: GET GAS. Became a member of the Barcelona DnB collective NUBE9 about 3 years ago, but she has performed with many of the other crews in the city: Tiknology, Dubcelona, DnBCN, Corsario Riddim, etc... she adds a Jazzy-Funkiness soulful touch to the Dj's spinnin'...------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------ -------DjMAGMA Nacida en 1983, su infancia y adolescencia la pasó entre el País Vasco y Catalunya. Ya a muy temprana edad empezó a sentir curiosidad por la música de artistas como Nina Simone, Miles Davis, James Brown, Louis Amstrong... su padre le regaló el que sería el primero de sus discos, uno de Queen. Fue entonces cuando despertó y decidió que quería dedicarse a algo que le llenara y mantuviera su espíritu vivo: LA MÚSICA. Con su primer sueldo se compró una guitarra eléctrica y empezó a escribir canciones. Por aquella época sus discos favoritos incluían grupos como Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Dr. No, Extremoduro, Incubus, System of a Down, O'funk'illo, Rapsusklei, La Puta OPP, Bob Marley, New York Ska Jazz, Dr. Ring Ding... Aunque ella sabía que existía la música electrónica, no se metió de lleno en ella hasta que fue a una actuación de Free Stylers, tenía 18 años, salió de allí convencida y cambió la guitarra por unos platos y una mesa de mezclas, empezando así lo que seria su hobbie/profesión. Gracias a sus amigos comenzó a moverse por fiestas de música electrónica, siendo las de Drum and Bass y Breakbeat en las que más disfrutaba, ese era su sitio. Through his hard work, he gained his residency at Testpress, one of New York’s longest running Drum and Bass parties. In Spain he has djed local parties including the JazzClub, Zentraus, Apolo, Sidecar, Nubaa, Mambo Beach Club, Mochima Bar, Xpressing Underground, Daf, Tasmaniac (Special Offshore Rec. Session), Club Sonora and various rave venues like Art Factory, Frakaso Eskolar and Dover Mansion. Egres’s dj talent covers all of the sub-genres of Drum and Bass from Leftfield to Jump-up in an intense and smooth rolling style that focuses on melody capturing the heart of the dance floor. Currently, egres represents the independent, eclectic drum and bass label Offshore Recordings as the only international dj included in their roster and runs the only atmospheric dnb night at club FLOW (BCN). Finally egres has plans and is working on projects to bring fresh energy to the Spanish Jungle/Drum and Bass scene with the formation of his group www.surcobcn.com. One month later, he picked up his belongings and moved to Barcelona, Spain where life promised new, fresh, exciting and challenging times. Tamen' s dj skills were quickly noticed in Barcelona and he began djing at local raves and club nights like La Xina at Sidecar, Raval Bass at Zentraus, Nubaa, Sifo, Macba, Makabra, Jazz Room, Bang Bang, Mesum de Arte Contemporanio (Castillo de Leon), Pamplona, Observatorio (Valencia), San Sebastian, Bar Gusto, Mephisto, Chikamala, Apolo, Xpressing Underground and the Cube Club. Tamen has not forgotten about his live instrument roots either as he now has a Grade 5 Drumming Certificate and plays live with various groups in Barcelona such as Jahbitat Live (Arepaz, Nosordo), which is a live instrumental Hip Hop band with well-known producer Jahbitat of the label Botanica de Hilbro, live Folk/Reggae/Funk with Kevin Ryan of Ireland and Bossa-Blues with Mango Juice from Barcelona. In august 2006 he went on a month-long tour around Ireland playing many house parties and local radios "Flirt FM" and "Bassbin on Power Fm". He performed at the two main independent experimental music festivals "Mantua" and "Slibh an Iarann Arts Festival" alongside other artists from respected labels like Planet Mu and Warp. He also ripped through clubs namely "Recepy" at the Junction, "Fundraiser" at the Rowing Club and "Nu Killa Beats" at Dolans Warehouse, where he found his beginnings with dj Code's Subtle Audio Recordings as a dj representative of the label. In recent years he has helped organize some of the biggest and most well received Jungle events NYC has ever seen, including the NRJP tour, and the "Diss Da Program" nights at Konkrete Jungle.Over the years DJ Tuffist has been an integral part of keeping Jungle Music alive in New York City and North America in General.In January, 2004 Tuffist left Survival. He is now performing as a solo artist, and represents one of North America's top Jungle crews, illegal Sound. In January 2005 Tuffist Launched Cause and Effect Records alongside Boston's Miztah Lex, and Rob Penta. The Label has featured tracks by 16 Armed Jack, Loqutus, Krinjah, D -Star (feat.
