I could say all the usual names(MLK,MalcolmX,etc.etc.)But thats a given.So Id have to say my Great Grandmother who just turned 89 last week. She's survived Jim Crow,the Great Depression,WWII,the civil rights struggle,Woman's and Black people's right to vote,The E.R.A. Reaganomics,etc...She is my own piece of black history and I love and cherish her.I vow before I leave this earth that I will have a statue of her erected in our hometown in her honor.She to me is the epitome of what black women have built and sacificed in this country!
