About us:With such a wide assortment of music magazines currently online, you may be wondering what we have to offer that the others don't. Our purpose is simple. We aren't here to sell the latest chart-topping release. We're here to get the word out on talented artists, in hopes that mainstream audiences will expand their horizons and demand that quality return to entertainment. It's an industry that has become a business ruled over by corporations more interested in the quickest way to a buck than in standing behind real artists and their work. Music is meant to communicate, but you'd never be able to tell that by the projects that are greenlighted these days. Labels pay their way to radio success, push aside intelligent material for lightweight fluff and any project lacking a big money machine's support struggles to be heard. We've personally experienced more than enough of this and have decided that it's time for a change. Rather than join in the blind hype and pop idol worship that so many publications are more than happy to do, we offer a challenge to music lovers of all ages. We dare you to turn the dial, change the channel and dig a little deeper. You haven't experienced music until you've sought out the best, and the vast majority of the best will not be appearing on your local radio station. With today's industry, you'll have to do a bit more work to discover the true hidden treasures. And that's where we come in.The word serendipity is described as the ability to make unexpected and fortunate discoveries. English author Horace Walpole coined the word in a letter composed on January 28, 1754, when he described a recent discovery as "almost of that kind which I call Serendipity, a very expressive word." Serendipity Media is here to introduce listeners to the exciting art they may be missing out on. You will not find a single page here dedicated to an album we don't thoroughly recommend. There's already plenty of negativity in this world and we don't feel like contributing to it. Since we see no point in wasting anyone's time on releases we can't stand to begin with, you'll only find reviews of quality projects in our archives and updates. We tend to gravitate towards indie rock, pop and folk, but our tastes span across the entire musical soundscape. Another thing that seperates us from the pack is our willingness to give everything a chance. We aren't like the critics who think only obscure titles can be rewarding. We haven't quite reached those heights of pretentiousness yet, and we consider it one of our finer attributes.Audiences today have scarfed up the musical junk food being placed in front of them for far too long and we hope there is an end to that in the near future. Our sights are set on spreading the word about music, past, present and future, that deserves a wider audience. We may be a small organization now, but our goals are big. We hope to influence and raise the standards of the art circulating across the globe. With your support, we can replace today's empty entertainment with something better. We encourage you to take this journey with us!
