Their sound spans the somnolent, e-bowed majesty of mid-period R.E.M., the heartache of early Turin Brakes and grandiose ambition of U2.
Collie Stewart’s smooth and soulful vocals are the instantly recognisable strength of the Morph sound. The rest of the band creating just the right atmosphere for his beautiful melodies, whether it’s the haunting, reflective ambience of "Streetlife", the sparkling folk strains of "Freedom" or the pulsing rhythm of "Lonely Friend...
In recent years the band has been gaining momentum, building up a reputation as a compelling live act, with a series of successful tours across England, Ireland and Scotland, a reputation reinforced by appearances on UK and Irish television and radio. In October of 2003 their self financed and produced debut album ..Morphsville.. was released to critical acclaim and glowing reviews amongst the indie community, not only in the UK but across the globe.
Currently the band are writing material for a fourth album, distilling their abundant talents to a more direct and engaging sound, creating a new batch of songs that will clearly showcase the talent, passion and energy that is just bursting for release.
The start of 2007 will see a flurry of activity as the band get ready to reveal their new material to the public, hitting the road to reaffirm their position as one of the most accomplished live acts in the country, and looking to secure a deal that will see their next album getting the wider attention and recognition it deserves.
