Send us an email to [email protected] stating who you are and if you would like to either be on our mailing list or help out with our street team. Or both! Mailing list members will receive updates on upcoming shows and important Anubis-related news. Street team members will recieve emails about our upcoming shows, and be updated when we have "missions" for them, which usually involves printing out and/or handing out flyers wherever possible. It's not easy to be a local band and we need all the help we can get to promote and get our name out there. Anyone who does help won't go un-appreciated either. Some free stuff (like T-shirts) will be around for those who really help us out alot.

For some of you....to hear "Anubis" is to imagine the tall, dark figured, jackal-headed god of embalming. A forseer of destiny, an anouncer of death roaming the sands of Egypt. For those of you who have already tasted the sweet nectar of metal raging through your bones, sweating through your pores... you know what this "Anubis" is all about.
"Anubis Unbound" is one of the hardest and most diverse metal bands to branch from its Harford County roots. A five (5) member group consisting of two blister busting guitarists (Brian Smith and Jarred Sleeth), a crazy string slapping bassist (Ryan Plunkett), a damn near contortionist drummer (Tony Marley), and lastly the voice of the murderous group, the main vocalist (Justin Severn). "With their powers combined..." They are "Anubis Unbound". A breed of metal-thirsty musicians whose influences stem from greats like "Pantera", "Metallica", "Lamb of God", "Slipknot", and "As I Lay Dying". These guys also instill a sound of their own into the blend.
"Anubis" started out in fall of 2004 with Justin Severn and long time friend Larry Coale. Soon after Tony Marley (on drums) and Ryan Plunkett (on bass) were brought in to join this nameless basement band. They were later joined by the talents of Brian Smith as lead guitar. With the completion of the band, now all that was needed was someone to keep these boys on track. John Marley (father of drummer Tony Marley) stepped up to the plate. Now with a manager intact, it was going to be months of learning and adapting to the differences in styles among the members. These differences would later bring conflict to the band.
With their first show in April 2005 and only five (5) songs completed, they had torn their small town of Aberdeen a new one. "Anubis" was making itself known, bringing with them a crowd of new and old metal heads who yearned for their sound. By late summer of 2005 Mr. John Marley had handed over his title as "Anubis Manager" to Patricia Tilton. Following this change in authority was the release of their four (4) track demo "Demonic Visions", and the completion of three (3) new songs. They seemed to be on their way.
With the efforts and resources of their new manager, winter brought more opened doors for "Anubis". Through it all the band advanced to the second round of the "Emergenza". Already having lit up the air for Baltimore's 98ROCK 'Noise in the Basement' (hosted by Matt Davis), things were looking up. Despite all of this, differences between the guitarists had caused the inner core of the band to begin to crumble. This soon would cause the inevitable loss of guitarist Larry Coale.
Fighting rumors of leaving for another band, Larry had insisted it was a conflict of interest and of heart. This soon created panic within the band. With the second round of the "Emergenza" approaching within weeks, the band had agreed to carry out practicing together allowing Larry to play the "Emergenza". This was agreed as long as he was to show for the remaining practices. Soon after, his presence became absent.
"Anubis" had begun to question their future as the band had met a fork in the road. Another guitarist was needed. Someone whom already knew most of their songs, and would be able to keep up in performance was just a blink away. A relative of the vocalist and close friend of the band D.J. Ware was then brought in as the temporary replacement, and was official by late spring 2006. This brought the completion of the bands eleventh (11th) and twlelfth (12th) songs, written with the new guitarist. Unfortunately, after less than a year with the band D.J. had left due to personal reasons.
Having played over 30 shows, several interviews with 98ROCK, nearing the completion of their up-coming self-released CD (an untitled, nine track disc featuring their latest, due out by the end of this fall), I would say these guys know what they're doing. They've created the beginning of the new metal era, leaving behind a lasting impression on the souls of everyone they've touched. You haven't experienced "Anubis Unbound" until you know what they're about...living to perform for millions, to entertain you, to share their talent with the world, and to be known for their greatness.
