Raw Lit, a band from the San Francisco Bay Area, is looking to create a new perspective on Hip Hop, Rock and Pop music. Raw Lit goes beyond the standard by taking a novel approach to experimental live music. Focusing on vocal driven hooks, as well as unique melodies and complex beats, they have come up with something both rare and innovative in the music world. Combining various musical and vocal styles, you will find elements of classic R&B mixed with modern alternative rock, hard rock and rap. They have powerful studio tracks that blend live vocals and instrumental performances with creative electronic and loop based cuts. This talented group of individuals showcases a professional skill in writing and production, and can pull off a stage show with a set that is known to be entertaining and unforgettable. Their performances are an exciting combination of live musicians and emcees.
As a band, Raw Lit includes seven members sharing the duties of writing, producing and performing the music. Coming from various backgrounds, ethnicities and ages, the diversity of the group is apparent through the music itself, as well as the appearance of the group on stage.
IQON’s extreme word play and versatility as a vocalist has strengthened the band’s ability to venture into new genres of music.
WHIZ, the other half of the dynamic emcee duo, provides clever lyrics that cover a range of topics that are relevant to the general population.
STEVE is an accomplished guitarist who brings an eclectic style to his songwriting. He also has an extensive background in turntablism and production.
NICK is a source of distinctive guitar lines that can only be described as intricate and precise. With his background in music production, he also plays a major role in the group’s sound and engineering needs.
BRIAN creates drum patterns to perfection as if they were programmed on a drum machine. His talent and experience show, as he moves from punk rock beats to hip hop breakdowns with ease.
