…Ése es el espíritu. Tantas veces vagamos sin rosa de los vientos ni brújula de sentimientos. Parece que nos pesa lo inmaterial. No, no tengas miedo de decirlo: andamos perdidos. Pero quien ha perdido sabe que duele pero no mata. Y todos hemos perdido…
Hay que lamer las heridas. He dicho lamer, no relamer. Nada de recrearse en el dolor. Dani no es de esos. Dani Poveda quiere cantar sus heridas, embellecer cicatrices cotidianas de desamor. Porque sabe que todo final es también un principio. Por eso el hombre que dio voz a Flint rehace el camino y vuelve a trazar la senda. De aquel power pop juvenil rescata el sustantivo y lo cultiva y lo mima y lo adorna y deja que entren rayos de sol. Sin miedo. Dani resigue el camino que va de los Beatles a Ron Sexmith, de los Zombies a Josh Rouse, de todos aquellos que trazaron un mapa sentimental del pop, de los que fueron lúcidos y sensibles y dieron placer a la adolescencia de nuestras almas.
Dani Poveda ha comenzado a escribir su propia cartografía musical en “Le Güertal II”, su estudio, donde la tecnología captura y registra su echarse a andar. Allí germina Gentle Music Men. Allí Dani juega con buenas cartas: tres reyes y dos reinas, músicos con los que buscar la jugada maestra, esas melodías que entrecruzan pasado y futuro, el estribillo que engarce con nuestras vidas y permanezca, leve e intenso.
No me niegues que es bonito ver nacer. Gentle Music Men está naciendo y tenemos el privilegio de verlo, de acompañarle a buscar esa luz que atraviesa el aire y te deja ver el camino. Y en otoño, como un sortilegio contradictorio, Gentle Music Men dará frutos y te dará otro disco con el que seguir soñando un mapa que te ayude a cruzar el bosque y haga que todo parezca mejor de lo que es. Que nos haga sentir ligeros y libres. Algo tan leve como importante. Porque, como decía Novalis

BIOGRAPHY
Gentle Music Men is Dani Poveda’s new project. He used to be the singer and guitarist of Flint (Bip Bip Records), until the summer of 2007, when he finally managed to gather a group of musicians to embark with him on his new project: Miquel Tello, Xavi Ribera, David Charro, Elisabet Barrau and Montse Inglada.
Pleasant melodies and subtle arrangements characterize the style of this band from Vilanova i la Geltrú, Barcelona, with Dani’s soft voice and acoustic guitar as his best instruments to compose his songs. The gentle tunes that adorn the songs arise from the undeniable talent of his fellow musicians: Miquel’s Beatle-esque touch, David Charro (Sir Charret, co-founder of Flint)’s subtle arrangements, Xavi’s elegant drum-playing, and Elisabet and Montse’s delicate voices.
Dani Poveda started to write his songs in his own studio, “Le Güertal II”, where technology captured and recorded his first musical steps. It was there that Gentle Music Men germinated. Dani plays with a good hand of cards: three kings and two queens, musicians with whom he seeks his best move, melodies that combine past and future, lines that stay with us and last forever, light but intense.
Dani rescues the substance of that young power pop that he used to play in Flint; he boldly cultivates it and adorns it. His influences go from the Beatles to Ron Sexmith, from The Zombies to Josh Rouse, from all those who traced the sentimental map of pop, those who were lucid and sensitive, and gave pleasure to our souls when we were young.
