About Me

Lynn DiVenuti is a performing artist with a lifetime of experience in front of an audience...and loving every minute of it!! Her musical roots started in Bluegrass, playing rhythm guitar for Dennis Hammons, two time Kentucky Banjo Champion. Then breaking out on her own, she performed as a street musician throughout the country...learning a variety of music from some of the most talented "unsung heroes" in the USA. She has been performing in the Tampa Bay Florida corridor since 1992, back then belonging to the Duo, "Rain Goddess"...appropriately named by their fans. They were the first musicians to play at the renown Gulfport Courtyard and the first musicians to perform for the first Gulfport "Artwalk". Now nationally known as one of Florida's premiere Art Colonies. She has performed her blues/jazz infused music in various cities throughout North America, including Mexico, Berkeley, New Orleans, Washington,D.C., Bangor, Miami, Sarasota, and Austin. In the Washington, D.C. area, for 15 years, she would perform at various venues. During that time, on her farm in Southern Maryland, Lynn was the co-founder of the Southern Maryland Music Co-Op. The SMMC dedicated their talents to creating a directory of the many talented musicians and performers in the Washington, D.C./ Southern Maryland areas. With this enormous pool of talent, the SMMC would host and produce Concerts and Benefits for charitable causes, including ailing Children with Leukemia, Victims of Hurricane Andrew to funding for AIDS Research. Her travels brought her to the Gulf Coast of Florida where she opened her own music venue and restaurant. Magnolia`s R&B Cafe offered live music pulled from the enormous numbers of talented songwriters and performers residing in the Tampa Bay Florida area.Lynn has performed and donated her time and talent to many benefits for her community. She was invited to participate in the first Women`s Blues Review,at Skipper's Smokehouse in Tampa, that held a fundraiser to benefit Women Abuse Victims. She was also asked to perform on the Tampa community radio station, WMNF.Then there was the time that Concert producer Mary Farrell and Lynn held a benefit at Janus Landing venue, in Saint Petersburg, for an old friend from Maryland that was injured in a car accident. The show succeeed in giving financial aid to the person in need and in connecting many local R&B Bands, who donated their time and energy for this worthy cause. Many of these bands are now recording artists for major labels.Ms. DiVenuti has acquired the art for recognizing and combining the talents of many performers. Her company, Magnolia Talent Development, Inc. has been on the forefront of many musicians' access into the performing arts. She has worked her way through the years as an Executive Chef and a Fine Musician. Currently on her third career, a Partnership Specialist in the IT Industry, she works with clients throughout the world. Saint Petersburg is her Home Base, for now.Recently parted from the trio called, BBR (Bass, Blues, Rhythm) that played a variety of music combed from each band members colorful past as musicians. They were invited to headline at the Lemuria Women's Festival in April 2006. The "Women Who Rock" contest in June 2006 in Orlando invited them to participate. Lynn, now, performs solo in the Tampa Bay area. Blues, Jazz, R & B, Folk, Rock, Contemporary, and Original music is what she performs. She continues to give back to her community with lending her talent to many benefits for non-profit organizations. She is also booked at a variety of venues throughout the Tampa Bay area...Basically, hitting all the bases. You are bound to have a great time at one of her shows...it's almost guaranteed. Influences: An Honest Statement-- Lynn has been a performing musician since age 19. She was hooked into the music scene when in 1974, she moved into "The House", a musicians commune located in the back woods of northern Virginia. There was a sister commune in Berkeley, California. The two communes were always rotating their residents back and forth from Virginia to California going on cross-country "field trips". Here was her foundation for an open mind that was always being educated by the many talented musicians and artists that shared their lives, dreams, and experiences. The 70..s was a time of much political upheaval and change. Living near the heat of the political chaos was an education that will always be engrained in the marrow of Lynn..s framework. Honesty, Integrity, Open-mindness,and Generosity are the goals that her life is striving to attain. Be it in her music and her private and public lives, she strives for a peaceful existance on this planet. She has been an accomplished Chef for over 25 years, owning 2 restaurants and many catering companies. But, her real Love is performing her music. Lynn considers her life blessed by the gifts that have been given to her and the thousands of people that have touched her life. Women In Film

Sounds Like: Her Influences-- Being raised in the 60`s and 70`s has been the main influence on Lynn. Her father a career Navy man, her family moved and lived in many places. Her wonder years were spent in Newport, Rhode Island, where the Newport Jazz, and Folk Festivals were held every year giving Lynn an opportunity to listen, learn and appreciate all the wonderful musicians that came to perform there. Either it be political turmoil, war, women`s rights, gay rights, presidential assasinations, communism, bomb shelters, the old "duck and cover" drills in 2nd grade(in case the Russians were going to drop the A-bomb), to moving to communist Cuba two weeks before Kennedy was assasinated...six months after the Bay of Pigs....to living in Puerto Rico, she grew to love the exotic cultures of all the Caribbean Islands. Her musical champions are Bob Dylan, Ray Lamontagne, Janis Joplin, John Legend, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Marley, Indigo Girls, Cowboy Junkies, John Lennon, Pete Seeger, Ralph Stanley, Paul Simon, Annie Lennox, Disappear Fear, Melanie Safka, John Prine, Frank Zappa, Peggy Lee, Nat KIng Cole, Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, Johnny Cash, Rolling Stones, Nirvana, Billy Holiday, Fats Waller, Grace Slick, Bonnie Raitt, The Who....so many.....and still the list is growing.Kitty Wake up call
