About Me

It's a long story, but here goes......Music has dominated my activities for the majority of my life. I got my start in music in the 7th grade on drums, (Actually, we played Flutophones the first nine weeks of the school year) and took part in Marching band, Concert band, Choir, Glee Club, and Jazz and Pep Bands throughout High School and College. I played trap set in various garage bands in High School (I really thought I was going to be a Rock Star) and was a snare drummer in the Naval Recruit Drum and Bugle Corp in basic training. During my stint in the Navy I picked up the guitar and started writing songs. I majored in Music Education at Oklahoma State University and after receiving my Bachelors Degree I spent a few years as a Middle School and High School Band Director................After leaving the teaching profession I sang for many years with country, jazz, and pop vocal groups in Oklahoma, Branson, Missouri, and Nashville, Tennessee. These groups included the Silver Creek Boys, the Uptown Express, Standing Room Only, and Vocal Point. Of course while all this was going on I was still picking my old Martin guitar and writing songs about a little bit of everything. During my musical life, I have had the opportunity to play and/or sing at fairs, festivals, rodeos, restaurants, nightclubs, churches, schools, art shows, parties, concerts, weddings…whew, and the list goes on and on. I’ve also had the honor of performing for luminaries ranging from my Grandmother Alta Campbell to President Richard M. Nixon. Here’s a quick side note. Whoever said you can’t teach an old dog, new tricks? I almost forgot to tell you that I went back to school in 2002 and received the Master of Business Administration in Technology Management from the Nashville campus of Phoenix University in the spring of 2005. More later.......I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4
