in october on 1939 when america was almost near world war 2 marvels comics issued there first comic called marvel comics# 1 with heros including the human torch, mask rider, the angel, and the sub marener from then on marvel was the 2nd comics industie in america next to action comics(detactive comics). so as more issues were selled the more marvel was becoming popualar. i 1940 as wwII was begining to start marvel was first called timly comics. timly had the best sellers like captain america, the human torch, namor the sub marener, the angel. during the 40's as these comics were becoming the best the hero captain america also known as steve rogers easly became the most popualar hero of the time. He became the living legand of world war 2. Then in 1941 comics entered the golden age of comics. With heros and villians like captain america, whizzer, toro, human torch, the blonde phantom, marvel boy, marvel boy II, bucky, the fin, red gardian, falcon, vision, citivian V, namor, miss america, 3d man, and the angel and more. so in the 1950's timly changed its comic name to atlas comics. because of the great depresson the name was changed with other titles with stories of fantacy, horror, western, war, humor, crime, and romance. this brought sales right back up. by the time of the 60's detactive comics was bragging of how much the justice lauage was doing in sales. So Atlas with changed the name to the original name marvel comics created the fantastic four. The f4 became the greatest comic book in the world by the third issue. in the 60's many heros were born such as, spiderman, the punisher, ant man(who is now yellow jacket), wasp, thor, daredevil, and iron man. Also teams were created like the x-men, the avengures, the invaders, and S.H.E.I.L.D. by the 70's marvel events begain. Such as secret wars, maxium carnage, mutant massacre, secret wars II, planet hulk, house of m, atlantiens attack, the hero killers, the infinity gantlint, world war hulk, and civil war. marvel heros and villians have always and still are the best characters in the world. now injoy my page
