Hi! My name is Joel Ã…hman. I'm from Stockholm, Sweden. When I was a small kid we inherited an old tread organ from my grandfather. I could barely reach the keys, but I loved playing on it, making up little tunes and melodies. I guess that's where and when the first musical seed in me was planted. -One that's grown to be a passion for writing and making music.
I started playing the drumms when I was around ten, when my parents let me take lessons at the community music program. I saved up money by doing things like cutting grass and stuff, and bought my first drumset, a blue Pearl Export set (Man, I was proud :-), when I was about twelve or thirteen. My brother started off playing the piano, but switched to electric guitar, so we had a cheap electric piano that I played around with alot to. My brother and I, and often my cousin Oskar, spend most of our free time in the basement jamming, changing settings as the mood fell in.
Growing up, I was very divided between graphic art and music. I played the drumms in various rock bands on my freetime, and studied art at school. But in my hart I felt more like a musician. To this day it's still my dream to be able to make a living on my music.
It took until 2004 or so untill I decided to try to learn to play the guitar. I guess I'm still a novice, but it's growing to be my main instrument, and the instrument of choice to write songs on. I guess technically I suck (on both guitar and piano), but I try to make up for it in feeling and musicallity. My main hobby today is writing, recording, and producing music. I usually play all the instruments myself, but I sometimes team up with my twin brother Klas. I also help arrange, record, and produce my cousin Oskar's music. (You can check them both out if you look in my friends section)
Except for the drumming lessons, I'm completly self-taught... -as in struggling to learn everything all by myself.
Well, I hope you like my music! Enjoy...
