General Hiking, biking, picnics in the sun w/a cool breeze, dancing - erry bahdy in the cluhb get tipsy... traveling, laughter, interesting/unusual peeps, fitness, computers, photography, exploring, spontaneity, wine, mojitos, tequila, moutain biking, paintball, looking smart...
I keep searching for a small group of the left of center, right on the intellectually stimulating bulls eye kind of characters to make my own reality TV show, with a digital still camera recording what it can, in fleeting glimpses of the world as it should be, as it might be if we all laughed at most of what is going on. And learned to relax. I say a toast (raising my metaphorical glass); to inner peace; to life, as it should be, in the land of the supposedly free!
European dance and lounge music (CAFE DEL MAR, BABEE!!!) Almost everything except the down home country stuff; I really dig the voice of Alison Kraus, but skip over all of the pickup truck/drama ballads of country singers.... The EIGHTIES, baby!; not a gorram thing wrong with that era; political, inspirational, irration, passionate, and you could DANCE to it! Lately my major musical interests include trip hop, house, techno, lounge, eurodance, arabic, and anything else that I run across that's cool; even some of the hip hop scene is making me happy, as long as no b**tches or hos getting slapped up or some crazy bro' nine action...:)
Lord of the Rings, Galaxy Quest, Princess Bride, Serenity, Napolean Dynamite, Triplettes de Belleville, Logan's Run, Blade Runner, and so much more. Love Indies, Hitchcock, Blake Edwards (couple); the Picaresque Brit dramas, anything Pixar, anything having to do with Love and a twist, anything scary and gory, but not for the sake of gore (John Carpenter's The Thing, Silence of the Lambs,The Descent) and foreigns...Truffaut, Fellini (just a couple), Kurosawa, (just a couple), Eisenstein, Kubrick (classics)....
I simply despise the derivative, pedantic, time waste, and bad for the brain narcotic that is and will always be Television ....EXCEPT for some fairly decently intellectually stimulating ones with excellent and unpredictable charcters, fantastic plots, and surprising twists....Battlestar Galactica (one L, Tricia!); Lost; Robot Chicken (not stimulating, just down home FUN!), .....,Little Britain, Dr Who, Dexter...
Um. All of them. and so little time. So I don't read much. But the classics? Got 'em covered. Anyone for a dialectic on Socratic sophistry and where Aristotle betrayed the very foundations of Platonic thought with his scientific approach? No? Anyone...hey people! I also like graphic novels! Come back and we can talk about the fall from grace of Batman as he got older!...there, that's better. Whew! Thought I lost you. i love books. Read one to me, and i will share my poetry back at you...(Bly, Creely, Ferlinghetti, most great poets, except (save for, as the Bard would say) but Emily Dickinson. She saw life through a window, and that disturbs me.
Hmmmm.Anyone in the military putting their lives on the line for our country; Police people, fire folks, public service peeps (who do their job effectively), a fun waitress or waiter, bartenders (when they pour heavy and are happy), women in see through stuff, or short skirts (or both), Spiritully and mentally attractive people who have it going on, red heads brunettes, and blondes. Just love 'em!
