About Me

The late Jack Cassidy was approved for a star on the World Famous Hollywood Walk of Fame on June 24, 2005. The only thing that stands in his way of receiving this long-overdue honor is the one-time fee of $15,000. This is a very reachable goal if everyone works together. This is the official campaign to make this dream a reality.

Why is there a campaign and why is the money being raised this way? There are a few reasons.First, the family cannot "buy" the star. It is against the rules. If they want to contribute, they can but they cannot buy it outright - be it one of them or all of them together. Part of the funds need to come from another source. But understand that this is common, especially when the person being honored has passed away. If the person is alive, very often they have studios or management to pay the fee. But if the person has passed away - and especially when it has been 30 years like with Jack, the money has to come from different sources. And, there is only the one-time fee. Someone out there is trying to tell people that there is some kind of annual fee. This is not true.Okay, the first explanation came from someone who has been through this for his dad - and succeeded. I don't have permission to share his name so I won't (but if he wants me to I will gladly add it) but the simple explanation is that the star is like a bowling trophy. When you win a bowling trophy, it is for your accomplishment. You have earned this and it is presented to you. Are you then handed a bill for that trophy? Not really. Jack earned this honor through extreme hard work and talent. It isn't right to hand him or the family the bill and say, "Okay, here.". It should come from those who have enjoyed - and continue to enjoy - his work. It is a way to say, "Thank you, Jack. We will never forget you." The family is a part of this. Ryan has been a tremendous help from the start. Pat and Melissa have also been a great help and we are looking forward to receiving help from other family members (coming soon!). The family supports this but this really should come from the fans. Then there is the fact that this is indeed a real opportunity for fans to be a part of something great. You aren't just an observer. You don't have to sit in the audience and limit your involvement. You really have a chance to be a part of this! You are a part of Cassidy history! This is why we offer The Wall Of Thanks - so every contributor is seen and appreciated. You don't have to put your name on the wall, but we will list you as you like - within reason (I can't fit an essay on the plaque but I will try!). Every contribution matters to us and we acknowledge it (and we offer items for every budget!) It just isn't often that fans can really give back to the performer or a whole family and we don't look for handouts. That is why we provide so many opportunities for donating - different products and such so that everyone can find something that they want. Just keep checking our blog! We have some great items coming and we are keeping it fresh and unique with great quality for your money. As for "can't the family afford it"? Sure, but the point is to give back. To be a part of something wonderful. Look at the Osmonds. Their fans believe so strongly in that family and hold them with such affection and esteem, that they have raised money for at least three stars. No questions of "why can't the family pay for it" - just an acknowledgement and a very public way to say thank you. If the Osmond fans (whom I hold in very high esteem myself and they have been an asset to this campaign, actually), can raise money for three and counting, Cassidy fans can band together and raise money for one - a very, very important one.I hope this clears some things up.
