ABOUT THE JAM AT OLIVERS.....The jam session @ Oliver's is a new scene quickly developing in one of London's best, yet least-known live music venues. Close to Greenwich park and eager to embrace the young and brazen depth of talent of the students at Trinity College of Music, this jam session hosts weekly, established special guests that up and coming improvisers can get a chance to sit in with.Hosted by Sam Crowe, each wednesday the selected house band play a set from 8.30 which is followed by a jam session from around 10.00pm. The jam has hosted huge US artists such as JOEL FRAHM, MARK TURNER and KIRK LIGHTSEY and is growing still in depth of talent that can be seen and heard there.With a minimal charge of £3 on the door, this weekly event offers probably the best value for money on the london jazz scene.A great sounding room with a piano and PA, a warm welcoming vibe, good wine and beers and most importantly, great music.All instrumentalists and singers are welcome.Seeya down there.xxx
