East Coast!

About Me

After the demise of the popular cult band the Farmers, Slink Moss was born as a side project of the spook rock band the Goblins. Slink Moss enjoyed success as a regional act in the Chicagoland area with his band the Flying Aces before moving to NYC in 1997. In 2001 Slink Moss began rocking in the Hudson Valley which was near his friend and former Farmers drummer Joe Lucas. They began working together with Joe as a drummer for the Slink Moss Orchestra (which would later evolve into S.M.O.) Soon Joe and Slink began playing stripped down rock reminiscent of the Farmers in Hudson, NYC, Boston, and in central Mass. They recruited stellar bass player Matt and began performing at fairs, carnivals, and honky tonks around New England. They named their band Slink Moss East Coast. The East Coast band sometimes performs their hard-rockin country beats and power pop melodies with Flying Aces keyboardist Billy X Maryniak who provides a 60's Rock feel to their East Coast sound. In 2005, they recorded 5 songs with Nic Hard and Ethan in the Catskill Mountains. The Song "Zombie Mama" was featured on MTV's Real World and an instrumental version of "Ghost Factory" was featured in a film by Simon Lund and Slink Moss called The Shack.

Aigars

Aigars' bells during our ArtsWalk set at Stray Bar in Hudson in Oct , gave us a wall of sound like Springsteen. But Joe was the engine. Can't wait to rock again.

Secret Lou Reed

Our friend Norman said that East Coast tapped into the vibe of the "secret Lou Reed" and I think I know what he means. Like "I love you Suzanne"?

Dance of the Dead at Super Bowl Sunday

If the Bears had run a play called "Dance of the Dead" in the forth quarter they'd be Champs; if Prince had played "Dance of the Dead" instead of those over-played covers; if they'd have Slink Moss Ea...

Dance of the Dead in my belly and brain

if there was just "Dance of the Dead" and nothing else, then I wouldn't have gotten so sick.

Dance of the Dead

Whenever we need a "touchdown", a song that will rock no matter what, we play "Dance of the Dead" in D minor. It's kind of a rockabilly "Paint It Black" and it always works to get the spirits of the d...
