Slink Moss Explosion!

About Me

SLINK MOSS EXPLOSION is an original group that seeks to infuse old country and blues with modern energy. It's new gunpowder in an old gun. It's vintage for your existing environment. "We take the roots and make them fresh, green leaves." The band plays originals that borrow from the old (Eddie Cochran, Buddy Holly, Johnny Cash) and the new (The Shakin' Pyramids, The Cramps) and the very old (ol' time Folk Music, people) but also, interestingly, SLINK MOSS EXPLOSION is inspired by Brit rockers like T Rex and Led Zep. It's a potent mix of styles.SLINK MOSS EXPLOSION began in high school when Slink Moss and Mr. Bones were teenagers in a wild band called the Rockin' Blue Notes. The song "Rocket Rock" was written by Slink Moss and Mr. Bones when Mr. Bones was Junior Bones. After years of performing in various bands, Slink and Mr. Bones began talking and drinking and plotting a new group that'd put their know-how to use. They recruited the mysterious Mr. X to play guitar and the Slink Moss Explosion was created like some dangerous compound from a science lab experiment.SLINK MOSS EXPLOSION songs are about the lonely American rambler looking for a girl, and a home, and a good party. After a rockin' debut show at the Metro in Chicago in 2001, Slink Moss Explosion played a series of crazy hootenanys and jamborees (like The Big C) and in 2003 recorded 8 songs in one night at Rax Trax in Chicago with mix-master Jay O'Rourke. The other tunes on this disc were recorded by Slink Moss with producer John Hancock in New York City and then sent to Chicago for Mr. Bones and Mr. X to add their special chemistry. Songs like "Kool Kat", "Pass It Around", "Honey Bee Bop", were featured on MTVs' Real World and Made. They sounded wicked good on the TV!SLINK MOSS EXPLOSION has recently finished a collection of 10 songs called "In Space" featuring "Hello Rock N Roll" and "Christmas On The Moon"
