Due to my lack of stability I have met tons of people but I don't really have a close group of friends. I would like to build some tight friendships so I am looking for people I can connect with.I want to meet people that are down to earth but cool too. Friends who want to share experiences not just compete to see who is doing better or looking best. I want friends not competitors. People I can be happy for and who can be happy for me, genuinely.
..
I grew up with a tendency to like romantic shit. Seems the tendency lingers. Until I met my ex-husband I stuck mostly to Spanish music. I like:
Juanes
Shakira
Mana
Charles Aznavour
Chayanne
Carlos Vives
AND Romantic ballads from the 60's through the 80's (The stuff my aunts listened to...(what can you do?)
Then I met Jeff and he introduced me to more hip stuff and I came to appreciate a whole new set of styles. I am not so much into certain artists I just like a whole whack of songs from all over the place, once in a while I like more than 4 songs by the same artist. Not often though. Lately I dig the Dixie Chicks (WTF???), Dusty Springfield, Fergie and Keane.
Songs that I'm just loving right now:
* Everything - Michael Buble
* Clumsy - Fergie
* Cowboy Take Me Away - Dixie Chicks
* Secret Heart - Feist
* Karma Police - Radiohead
* Hey There Delilah - White T's
* Collide - Howie Day
* Love's Divine - Seal
* Hanging by a Moment - Lifehouse
All time favorites I don't get sick of:
* Lost Cause - Beck
* Red Red Wine - Neil Diamond
* Run - Snow Patrol
* Joey - Concrete Blond
* Lost For Words - Pink Floyd
* Lost Together - Blue Rodeo
* The Shining - Badly Drawn Boy
* The Book of Love - Peter Gabriel
* Moon River - Perry Como
* How To Save a Life - The Fray
* The Gambler - Kenny Rogers
* Islands In The Stream - Kenny Rogers/Dolly Parton
* Sleepwalker - Johnny & Santo
* Wish You Were Here - Pink Floyd
Genres that make me feel good all over:
* Broadway Music
* Oldies
* Bachatas
* Regueton
* Music of the World (Greek, Japanese, Indian)
* Romantic or Sad Crap that makes me wanna drink and cry
Wow, that was pretty detailed......
Dirty Dancing Is number 1 no matter how many other awesome movies I've watched. I also like Breakfast at Tiffany's. Who doesn't like movies? There's like a million good ones!
I pay for cable just so I can watch Survivor. Hardly ever turn on my TV, but I truly loved:
* Will & Grace
* Sex And The City
* Friends
Home Improvement Shows, Gory surgeries or makeover shows, David Letterman. These are good fillers.
Ha, ha..... if you thought the music list was long, let's not even get into this one. Between the Spanish and the English books I could write a book myself. Too many and too many loved. I would like to recommend something I just recently read though: SEX LIVES of CANNIBALS by J. Maarten Troost (made me chuckle out loud a few times....LOL)
Juanes and Shakira:
Because they represent the beauty, talent and great spirit of my country Colombia and they bring it out to rest of the world. You just gotta love that shit.
