I am here for Friends

About Me

♥ I don't know about me, do you?
I grew up in a little town called Ruthin in North Wales
and moved to the USA in 1985.
RUTHIN - Wales
I am happily married to the best guy in the world, I have a gorgeous 16 year old son, a great 31 year old step-son who has an adorable 12 year old daughter. I have 3 dogs, 1 cat and at the moment 3 horses.
I have been to most of the states here in the USA, except Alaska, Washington, Idaho and the NE New England area. I have been to Canada, Mexico, of-course England, Wales, Scotland, France and Spain. I like to travel and see how people live, the different lifestyles, cultures, languages, dialects, diets, styles and daily life in general. My passion is horses, horses, horses. In England I worked at a riding school teaching others to ride and working (training) other peoples horses too. I love to jump and to compete at horse shows in general. I have been teaching now, off and on for 22 years - wow, it doesn't seem that long. I ride and teach both English and Western riding disciplines.
I enjoy riding and training horses, teaching, photography, camping, vacations, quilting, crafts, hanging out with family and friends and learning new things.
Here's some of my favorite photos. . .

Chester and I go on a trail ride every year. This year will be our 11th consecutive ride on this particular ride. We ride across the state of Nebraska. Although we cover over 500 miles, we only ride about 20 miles a day. When I first went on the trail ride, there were over 250 riders on it, now there I think it averages about 60 riders. We are fed twice a day and the food is usually good, anything from inch thick pork steaks, to lasagna. Not what you would picture - no day old thick black coffee and beans!! A band travels with us and plays almost every night at the dance. You take your own beverage to the dances - alcoholic (Jack Daniels for me!) or not, and at night you sleep in your horse trailers - it really is a lot of fun. We end in Omaha where we ride in the Heritage Parade in downtown Omaha, during the River City Roundup. We have a blast.
More of my stuff . . .

My Interests

I have lots of interests - interesting people with a sense of humor! Creative moments. All things equine.
This horse is Chester ~ named after the city in England ~ I raised him, he is a 10 year old Quarter Horse gelding. His favorite thing to do is nothing, well, except eating of-course. I ride him Western and English and he likes to jump. He thinks that the other horses around here are his herd and that he is pretty special. That part is true, he is pretty special! He has the best personality, he loves attention and he is pretty famous. Everyone who knows him, loves him. At the moment he and I are training to be certified in Mounted Search & Rescue.

Aren't you glad it is summer now?

The Moon's a Balloon by David Niven. I read it when I was about 14 and just thought that it was hilarious. I will have to get it again and read it now to see if I think the same! Yes I have read other books since, I just can't remember the damn names.
Oh yeah, Good In Bed by Jennifer Weiner - I identified with that book, and it has nothing to do with sex, so get your mind back where it belongs! I love the James Herriot and the Chicken Soup books too. I don't get much time to read so lately I've read 'shorter stories' so to speak.
I like biographies.
