About Me

Interview With Me From 1974
See the rest of the Interview here

I grew up on a private island off the Almalfi Coast. My parents were dreadfully rich. Our surroundings were lavish expanses of garden and servants (3 to every room). The chambermaids were my favorites, of course. Oh! how we would frolic on the open beach with the lights of the mainland glittering in the distance... but I get ahead of myself. All of our silver and China was specially ordered from Greece. Once we would eat off a plate, we would throw it away, never to be touched again. My parents were funny that way, but I didn't mind. It was quite a lavish experience. Then, of course, The Goons happened. It was a very silly time. Others came along and I still look back whistfully to that island, untouched, except for us and our private military of servants.

Finally, in conclusion, let me just say this.

My Interests

Imitating other people, traveling, vaudeville, making people laugh, Sophia Loren, banjo, ukelele, drums, providing that wonderfully fleeting moment of expression and release.

I'd like to meet:

I have met many people in my life but I forever enjoy meeting new characters. I have a great time by myself, because there are so many people in me that I could pass my time infinately meeting new people alone. But come alone with me sometime; we'll make a threesome of it.

Music:

Let me preface everything by saying that I hate, truely HATE "In the Mood." I enjoy playing in a jazz band. I like beat music, trad jazz... anything that offers an out-of-body experience.

Movies:

Certainly not my own. I writhe when I see myself on the screen. I'm such a dreadfully clumsy hulking image. I say to myself, 'Why doesn't he get off? Why doesn't he get off?' I mean, I look like such an idiot. Some fat awkward thing dredged up from some third-rate drama company. I must stop thinking about it, otherwise I shan't be able to go on working.

Television:

BBC, Monty Python's Flying Circus, Kids in the Hall

Heroes:

My parents, my wives who would take care of me (especially Anne), vaudvillians
