Imitating other people, traveling, vaudeville, making people laugh, Sophia Loren, banjo, ukelele, drums, providing that wonderfully fleeting moment of expression and release.
I have met many people in my life but I forever enjoy meeting new characters. I have a great time by myself, because there are so many people in me that I could pass my time infinately meeting new people alone. But come alone with me sometime; we'll make a threesome of it.
Let me preface everything by saying that I hate, truely HATE "In the Mood." I enjoy playing in a jazz band. I like beat music, trad jazz... anything that offers an out-of-body experience.
Certainly not my own. I writhe when I see myself on the screen. I'm such a dreadfully clumsy hulking image. I say to myself, 'Why doesn't he get off? Why doesn't he get off?' I mean, I look like such an idiot. Some fat awkward thing dredged up from some third-rate drama company. I must stop thinking about it, otherwise I shan't be able to go on working.
