Just worked my photoshop skills in the Feb 2008 issue of GEEK MONTHLY on Jorge Garcia from 'lost' - my credit on p.39 was obscenely long... *Check out my latest movie project* at www.PaulaPerilMovie.net ... See my *latest interviews* at ComicUS.it (scroll half way down for English translation) and the Comic Book Bin to learn about my new fan project, magazine photo layout and the online premiere of my first production - a homage to the first lady of Video Games. My latest action/drama film short is now available to download.
// Who I be: //
I am a film making, somewhat athletic, computer geek who enjoys comic books, pyrotechnics and playing the harp. When I am not teaching Police and Firefighters how to use their computers or reporting on events in the Culver City area you'll find me at acting workshops or Aerial Art classes with Aloysia, an instructor from Cirque du Soleil . Most mornings I train in Krav Maga . I am also starting up a Neighborhood Emergency Response Team now that I am apart of C.E.R.T. . Never a dull moment!
My film premiere on G4TV
I am the only child of a single-working Mom. She is terrific, always pulled me out of school early so we can go to the movies. I have loved film since I was 9-years-old when I found it to be great company while I was home alone doing chores.
I started flirting with acting in Junior High. I was in school plays, community theatre and did some commercial acting. Then I focused on getting my Neuroscience degree and rediscovering my first love - computers. Last year I had a bit part in a Discovery Channel Special and a don't-blink-or-you-will-miss-me few seconds on HBO's Entourage. For three years, I got together with friends and kindred spirits to make a forty minute action/drama based on my favorite video game heroine - Lara Croft, which has been covered by newspapers, event sites and television shows around the world. (See TearsoftheDragon.org for more on that ode to guerilla film-making.) This project lead me to getting hired for my next role which is the comic book character Paula Peril who is a cross between Nancy Drew and Indiana Jones.
This summer I took my third intensive scene study workshop with the fabulous acting sage Larry Moss and taught my third crash course in film-making at the San Diego International Comic Con. When I wasn't teaching at the event, you would have found me at a small press table with the prequel comic book to my Lara Croft fan film or at the Femme Fatales Magazine booth signing the Sept issue that I appeared in.
In 2006 I attended my first Dragon*Con in Atlanta where I took more Wonder Woman promo photos with the very talented Adam Hughes (Check out a few pics from our first shoot and his upcoming All Star Wonder Woman Comics in his interview at Newsarama ).
