Love is the triumph of imagination over intelligence.

About Me

My name is Avens. It's Irish. I'm Irish. Like, very.
I'm a huge dork. Keep reading to learn more.
. . .
I'm a self-described narcissist. Just go look at my pictures .
Like every other precocious nymph-looking quasi-goth chick who dates older men, "Lolita" is one of my favourite books. Cue rolled eyes and exasperated sigh.
. . .
I get hit on way too much. Especially online. I'm involved with someone and not interested. Seriously. I'm flattered if you think I'm hot enough to hit on even not knowing me in person, but if you can't spell and you don't have any similiar interests, you don't have a chance, and if you do, well, you're still some skeevey guy from the internet and I don't play that game. Okay? Sorry, rant's over.
. . .
So, you really want to know about me?
I'm wicked shy about my age. Don't ask me. I won't tell you. It's not important. I'm not my age, and that's all that matters.
I'm extremely spiritual. I'm a Neopagan Druid of the Celtic Reconstructionist tradition. I've written an essay or two on it. I'll be writing more.
I love animals. Not to an extreme degree - I still eat them and wear them whenever I please (I even sell their skins ). But I love animals. I have a lot of pets , who are pretty much the most stablizing force in my life. My favourite animals are the kinds with wings - I envy their ability to fly.
I'm very political. Both in opinion and in action. I'm a leftist Libertarian , and I'm Vice Chair of my State Party . I'm support Ron Paul for President. I studied Politics as a major in college for a year. I'm usually fiscally conservative and socially progressive. I like low taxes , private schools , gun rights , gay marriage , decriminalized marijuana , and reproductive choice . I believe freedom means responsibility. But don't get me wrong, I think it's a travesty that we're the richest nation in the world and there are still children going to bed hungry here.
I'm a computer nerd. I first touched a computer at age four and I've been a whiz ever since. I was President of the Computer Club at my first college . I design websites for fun. I even have my own . If you're looking for advice on how to change your MySpace page, I recommend this one for your Top Friends , and I recommend the very basic Thomas' Editor for everything else.
I'm also a philosophy nerd. Another of my short-lived majors in college. If you catch me in the mood, I can play a complete Devil's Advocate for hours on any philosophical topic you want - from Mankind's love of money to Mankind's love of self, the point of existance, ect. I'll be Socrates, Neitzsche, Sartre, Bertrand Russell, or Ayn Rand. I'll be their opposites. I love casual debate. I can also completely warp your mind (and my own) if you ever catch me stoned. Which isn't often. And be prepared to feed me.
I'm a huge fan of creative expression, either in dance, artwork , music, or even plain old writing. Especially plain old writing. I fancy myself a poet sometimes. I also have an online blog (livejournal). I like writing, I appreciate writing, and I think people don't do it enough. I have hundreds of journals filled with my thoughts, poetry, phrases, clever alliterations and lifetime observations.
I just made a quiz about myself on a website, because I'm a major dork. Want to see how well you know me?
...
I'm of a possibly ill-conceived notion that I'm a great photographer . Therefore, I must plague you with what I perceive to be my MAD skill with a camera:
Finally, I just have to mention - if you like what you've seen here, my ideas, my interests, and the way I'm trying to make a difference, I want you to realize that I'm working very hard to make ends meet while pursuing my interests, my education, and supporting myself independently.
If you feel compelled to help, which you are by no means obligated to, I would be grateful to accept donations to my personal "helping me out while I'm a broke college student" cause.
Thanks.
