About Me

Myspace Layouts at Pimp-My-Profile.com / Orange Silk

Mummy walks everywhere with her little kiddywinks, meeting their needs (and demands!) until they're bundled off at bedtime - hence the name "Kiss Mummy Goodnight". Mummy's Boy spends lots of time riding around in taxis and fiddling with guitars. My Interests

Band Website: -
Band Members: There are two of us: Mummy (Megan Peinell: NZ/UK) & Mummy's Boy (Phil Danger: UK). We usually get along quite well, despite our differences...
Influences: Phil is obsessed by pop, the 1980's, and guitars. Megan is a lover of vocalists who throw themselves into it (in any style) and has a longstanding love of classic vocal jazz (eg Annie Ross, Sarah Vaughan, Betty Carter, Dinah Washington). We agree on the fabulousness of Roxy Music, Scott Walker, The Associates, Goldfrapp, Cocteau Twins, Morrissey, Radiohead, Joan as Police Woman, Kate Bush, Eurythmics, Blondie, Pat Benatar, The Pretenders, PJ Harvey, Foo Fighters, The Police, Prince, and Queen. One of us likes Britney Spears' performance of "Born to Make You Happy" (whereas the other thinks it is a vile slice of tripe, and would prefer to hear Dame Shirley Bassey sing it!).
Sounds Like: You tell us! How about...Shirley Bassey's eggs fertilized by Scott Walker, then incubated in PJ Harvey's surrogate womb......

Recording vocals and being rock 'n roll (not).

Had a good session today. Re-recorded vocals for "Tomorrow Tonight", which we're both really excited about. We had done the original guide vocal in one take with me just sitting on the floor sing...

HELLO FRIENDS, ARE YOU LISTENING? LET US KNOW!

Hey there!... I am intrigued: sometimes our plays go up suprisingly high, and while my rather skeptical brain says it's due to some sort of myspace-malfunction, it could also sugge...

The Flood (aka The Studio is F*cked!)

Went to Phil's for a session Wednesday before last: offloaded kids to school and my wonderful friend Kate, and took the train in. As usual Phil and I had a bit of a catchup chat an...

Hurrah for drummer Mitch

We were prevaricating over how to get drums onboard without having to make major rearrangements to our sessions (things have changed anyway, but that's another story - see the blog on "The Flood"...

Expanding band: bass/drums/guitar? Give us a bell!...

We have been playing acoustically but are feeling the need to expand our live sound...so we're keen to hear from good drummers/bassists/guitarists.  We want to hook up with people who a...
