Humour has always been a part John Ki's life. Recently John won the Q107 Derringer's Search for "The Funniest Person With A Day Job" with the grand prize of $10,000 and a trip to workshop with the famous and hilarious Eddie Brill (David Letterman's head writer) in New York City. Also, he recently won the Hogtown Comedy's "Ed Pollock New Talent Search" earning him a spot to perform on Yuk Yuk's Toronto Superclub's stage. Re-enforcing the idea that "Yes, some people do find him funny".
John Ki is currently one of the fastest rising comics in Toronto and his unique, honest, story telling style of comedy has been the key to his success. John was the first person in his family ever to be born in Canada. Growing up in Welland, Ontario John learned that a good sense of humour went a long way when dealing with the tyranny of three older brothers and a city that never had an Asian family.
