Lana Sutton Project

Rock & Blues Band

About Me

Whether you want rock or heartfelt blues, Chattanooga-based Lana Sutton Project is taking up both lanes. Its members emulate rock and blues from '70s trip music, the wailing Led Zeppelin sound and '90s grunge, all sensuously immersed in primal percussion and bass, towering guitar and over-the-top emoting."Our mission is to build audience emotion to a crescendo. We'll tease or pound it out of them," said lead vocalist, songwriter and sometimes guitarist, Lana.rahn's set list is overwhelmingly originals with a few well-placed covers to give the audience songs they love, and a few tunes they recognize. The band is recording its first CD, and will be promoting it throughout the Southeast.

Band Members:Lana Sutton Project combines the talents of five professional working musicians and studio recording artists. They boast an all-original set. Please meet our members:Lana, songwriter, vocals, promotion, some guitar, manager, arrangement, copyright holder to songs and sound recordings, writes unapologetically honest autobiographical rock songs. She is influenced by her experience as a journalist, and from her days in Atlanta grunge bands in the '90s. A Chattanooga-based NPR Music 88.1 FM news producer, freelance writer, personal trainer and yoga instructor, her day jobs have been primarily in the news departments of TV and radio stations, newspapers, magazines and federal lobbying groups.Art, sound engineer, master technician, rhythm guitar, manager, arrangement, is an acoustic gypsy and technical prodigy, who avidly enjoys his freedom from single-track careers. The former Georgia Tech electrical, aerospace and mechanical research engineer and commercial airline pilot has written a "Rockets & Robots" curriculum that he teaches to gifted children in the summer. He is producing and engineering our first CD, which will be available on MySpace in 2008.Robert, bass, arrangement, played his first paying gig at the Rambo Restaurant in Milford, IL, in 1967 at the tender age of 13. His pursuit of the bottom end of the syncopated groove led him to Indiana University, where in 1976 he graduated with concentration in Anthropology/Ethnomusicology and Jazz Studies. He has settled in Southeast Tennessee and found a home playing bass and keyboards with several notable bands/projects in the Chattanooga area.Jon, guitar, arrangement, is president of Chattanooga's Music Instruction Studio, and has recorded tracks for international recording artists. He has seen the fun side of the South in touring bands, and Canada. He is teaching tomorrow's future musicians how to rock.Special thanks to guests artists, who agreed to record in Muse studio for the purposes of promoting the band, and producing a CD: Kelly Basden; Todd Looper; Tom Standridge; and Barry Britton.
