A LITTLE BIT GOES A LONG WAY

About Me

Layout By
EastCoastDesigns & Co.THIS PAGE IS TO PROMOTE MY PRODUCTION PROJECTS - AND THE SINGER/SONGWRITERS I WORK WITH EVERY DAY. Throughout my 10 years in music publishing, I have had the honor of representing amazing songwriters who have shown me the power of a truly well crafted song. I have obtained numerous album cuts and singles for the various writers I have represented over the years. Please check out Major Bob's website to see what we're doing - www.majorbob.com. Publishing has also been a perfect platform to learn and hone my production skills. I am working with talented songwriters and artists every day, and we are constantly striving to construct what are considered true hit songs and careers. While visiting this page, you will hear songs I have either recorded or produced. Or, you might simply hear songs from one of the Major Bob songwriters I work with everyday. I want this page to be a way for me to communicate with talented singer/songwriters from all genres in our music community - on AND off of music row. I hope you enjoy what you're hearing. Please feel free to email me at any time.IF YOU'RE INTERESTED IN MY BACKGROUND, HERE YA GO... I grew up in a house full of music. Both my parents sang and played music their whole lives. From the time I can remember, my uncle Buddy (Harmon) always had drums set up at their house in Nashville and would let me play around on them. Sometimes, he would take me to a studio where he was playing a session (I remember when I was around 7 or 8, he took me to Johnny Cash's studio across the street from his house). Every memory of my past includes music from all genres. Once I was able to put my first record on the turntable (Steve Miller Band-Book of Dreams), I was eternally driven to create music. I started my first neighborhood band when I was 9. I Played my first paid gig when I was 11 (still have the cassette recording of that and it still sucks), and kept playing drums in various rock bands. I also studied trombone, piano, guitar, bass, contrabass, drums and percussion throughout my time in secondary school. I recorded my first multi-track recording on a friend's 4 track when I was in early high school and knew then that I wanted to produce records for a living. I received my B.S. in music and recording arts from the University of North Carolina in Asheville in 1991; studying music performance, theory, composition and history of all genres, and audio engineering. Throughout my time in college, I played in various rock, alternative, jazz, acoustic and pop bands - recording them all in the studio at the university. After I graduated, I made a living as a musician and audio engineer for film/TV and music.I moved to Nashville in 1996 and got my first gig at Muy Bueno Music Group as a catalog manager, and soon began plugging songs. I then began working for Major Bob Music, Inc. in 1998 as a song plugger/catalog manager. I've been the creative director of Major Bob Music, Inc. now since 2001. More and more, I am getting the opportunity to produce acts for both independent and major labels. ..... and the beat goes on.
