"I was born on the day the music died, a water-child in the land of the hot and dry. where Bob Wills is still king of saturday night, and you can see forever."
I’ve been playing music for a long time now, and still love it, and somehow have found a way to make money doing it. My parents bought me a guitar when I was 11 yrs old, and that pretty much set my course. I always knew.
I’ve been lucky enough to play all over North America, there are lots of wonderful people in this great land of ours and I have loved meeting them and playing a little music for them. I’ve played in front of 30,000 and i’ve sang for 3. Big arenas and little, little clubs. (I miss those West Texas dances), but no matter where I am it’s always a pleasure to hold that guitar and tell my stories.
Hope you like some of my stories. Mostly I’ve only recorded my own songs, but recently I recorded some outside songs that i’ve always loved. Radney Foster is one of my favorite singers/writers, and his song ’Again’ really hits me. life can sure kick you in the butt at times, and second chances mean alot. ’Time for me to fly’ was our pole vaulting theme song back at Texas Tech (I have to thank Brad for introducing me to REO Speedwagon) we had a lot of fun recording it (Scot, you rock!) and we love playing it live. I sure hope to see you out on the road someplace. come up and say howdy. thanks for stopping by, say hi anytime. Peace, Lane
