It all started in the early spring, 2005, when five fourteen year old friends got together for one gig and started a band. Of course the band had to be called something. After a long discussion and a lot of "google research" the friends agreed with a name; Ashes of Phoenix. From the beginning the band had only one goal; to play and have fun, but as the time passed on, the guys wanted more. "The longer we play together, we push our goals further." After a lot of gigs in the summer, the guys got the opportunity to open for Hardcore Superstar, Johan Randen and Timo Raisanen. After that gig the wheel started to spin for real.
In the late october 2005, the band got in to the studio (Apparatstudio) and record their first cd called "From the Ashes". The demo included the songs: Bad Hair, Click'n'Mix and My Secret Love. The song "My Secret Love" became a huge success for a band that only had been played for a half year. The demo sold over one hundred copies in only one month. Now it's also available on the internet for free! From this site you can listen to two of their songs: www.digfi.com .
In january 2006, Ashes of Phoenix managed to be one of the 20th best bands in their region in a music competition called "Musik Direkt". In march - june they also managed to get to the final in the international competition called "Emergenza" were they came at the 6th place.
In the end of 2006 they recorded the demo (demo nr.2) "Face The Truth" with the songs:
"Revolt", "Man of the Hour", "Right for Me", "Come Back Home", "Face The Truth" and "Harry D" in Studio Jonsered. In the spring of 2007 they were rehearsing for a demo (demo nr.3) and for upcoming gigs. They had a contact with a norweigan management company called Tonic Entertainment but their contact suddenly left the company, just as they were about to sign a contract, and the contact with the company was broken.
"As long as we're together and as long as we have our foot on the ground and look forward, our names will be remembered. Just like the big names; Iron Maiden, Toto and U2."
Now they are rehearsing for a new demo (demo nr.4) and more upcoming gigs. Many songs has been written since the last demo and two, or maybe three, songs will be on their demo! You will see them in the usual music contests in the southwest part of Sweden like Musik Direkt and Partillerocken etc.See you on stage!//Ashes of Phoenix (AoP)
