WE'RE HERE TO SPREAD THE WORD.
THE WORLD IS MELTING. Literally. Here's the story. There's these things called "the greenhouse affect." The sunglight (heat) goes through our atmosphere, but only some can escape. But now, too much heat is staying in the Earth's atmosphere. This is called "Global Warming". And because of this, the Earth's temperature is rising, which causes the ancient glaciers to start melting. Thus, the ocean is increasing in volume. If this continues, everything - and everyone - will be underwater. Well, that's not all. Since the temperature in the air is rising, so is the temperature of water. Algae like warm water, and starts growing. Too much algae can contaminate fish (and those who eat the fish) and swimmers. And since water is starting to cover more land - and mosquitoes looove water - its bringing the mosquitoes' habitat even further... closer inland. Another thing, with this increasing temperature, our weather patters will be jacked up. There will be droughts in one place and floods in another. Scared? Well, there are things we can do, but only a few people are aware. We are here to spread the word and START A REVOLUTION. (:
So all you skeptical people out there... you're probably thinking, "Hey. They're just a bunch of kids. Nothing special. What can they do?" Actually, we can make A LOT of thing. Thanks to the Internet and our determination. Who says we have to be famous or extremely talented to try to spark a change? So if you're as determined as us to try and make the world a better place to live in, leave your doubts at the door and hop on in. There's a lot of room.
(Some other information you need to know: this site isn't all about saving the environment. We're also gonna deal with other issues. Some issue that are gonna discuss may be arguable or controversial. We wanna hear your opinion. We are the future guys. This generation will be the one that rules the country, controls the government, teaches the younger generations, become parents, find cures, etc. The future's not that far away. We can make a change. This is a small step, but we'll get there.)

INCONVENIENT TRUTHS ABOUT THE WORLD
The Environment
1) Every hour, a part of the Amazon Rainforest as big as 300 football fields is cut down. The rate is even higher for all the rainforests combined.
2) 30% of all marine life has already been destroyed by oil or chemical pollution.
3) In 10 years, there will be no more glaciers in Glacier National Park.
4) If the clearing of the rainforest continues at the current rate, as much as 40% of the forests would have been cut in 20 years. This would cause dry and unstable ground in the rainforest basins and can even turn the Amazon into a desert.
5) Ten of the hottest years in history were in the last 14 years. The hottest was 2005. And 2007 is predicted to be the hottest year in record.
6) The average American throws away two pounds of trash a day. That is 600 million pounds of garbage per day, 4.2 billion pounds of garbage per week, and about 215 billion pounds per year. It takes millions of acres of landfills to store this waste every year.
7) If all the glaciers in the world melted due to global warming, Florida, Shanghai, Venice, Indochina, much of Brazil, and many other areas will be covered in water. This will lead to the making of 150 million homeless refugees.
Civilization
1) Every day, hundreds of people in Darfur are slaughtered by the Arab regime in Sudan. 400,000 people have been killed in the past 3 years simply because they were ethnic African, and as many as 2 million are living in extreme poverty in refugee camps.
2) 2 billion people in the world live on less than 2 dollars a day.
3) Life expectancy in Sub-Saharan Africa is about 45 years due to AIDs, other diseases, civil unrest, and poverty.
4) China's atheist Communist regime denies its 1.2 billion citizens to the right of religious freedom. They have been more lenient on Bhuddists because of their sheer number in recent years, but Tibetan Buddhists, and the country's 100 million Christians still face persecution.

SO WHAT CAN WE DO?
Evironment.
Well, there's a lot that we can do. One major issue right now - air pollution. Yeah, it affects the whole global warming thing, but it also affects our lungs. Did you know that just by living in Los Angeles, we may develop lung cancer?
1. This should be easy. Carpool. This benefits us in many ways. That means less cars will be at use = less gas use. Also, less cars on the road = less traffic. And you get to be with other people, most likely friends. Who says you can't have fun in the car? You're socializing and helping the earth. Amazing, huh?
2. Let's say there's a store down the block. Don't drive there, lazy! Walk or bike. You're using less gas, getting somewhat fresh air, and exercising your muscles.
3. Cut down on paper use. Some of you may be like.. wtf. But yeah. Paper comes from trees. Tress clean our air. So if we kill acres and acres of trees, we're practically killing our clean oxygen supply.
4. Oh yes. The original. Reduce. Reuse. Recycle. Yeah, by reducing and reusing the use of stuff, that means less stuff in the garbage, which means less stuff in the landfill, which means more clean land for us. Woot. Alright, lemmie tell you about plastic. It doesn't decompose. So that means, its gonna be here forever and ever and ever. Plastic can also cause damange to the environment - the animals. The six-pack ring thingy... it suffocates dolphins. Plastic grocery bags... whales eat them and die. So yeah. Recycling keeps it out the environment.
5.Guys, let's cut down on the energy use and water. Water, sadly, is a limited resource. If we keep wasting it... we'll run out. Serious. Don't take longass showers you don't really need. Save some water for us, whydontchu.
6. Here's another thing. Pick up your trash. Duh! Oh goodness. Not only are you harming the environment, you're making it look ugly. It's disgusting, honestly. It shouldn't be that hard to put the trash in the trashcan.
Society.
1. Do something nice for someone. Haven't you seen that commercial? When someone sees you doing something nice, it sorta inspires them. Really. I swear. C'mon, you just might make someone's day.
2. Yeah, guys. Fighting is stupid. It just leads to more fighting and it will never end. Stop the violence. Stop finding a brutal solution to a conflict. Talk it out or take some time to yourself. Of maybe, do something to make you forget the whole situation.
3. Do you guys have clothes you don't use anymore. Donate it. There's less fortunate people out there who would love to wear those clothes.
