Snail-facts:
- THE BEGINNING...
It all began in 2001 when Mikael (guitar/backvocals) and Simon (guitar) decided to start a death metal band - the only deathmetal band in Borås at that time. The first months went by real fast and many people tried out in Ethereal, but it wasn't until April 2002 the band got a full lineup: Mikael (guitar/vox), Simon (guitar), Martin (drums) and Alexander (bass). The demo, recorded in October 2002 called "Soulcage" was a 4-track demo.
The "Soulcage" sound was more melodic that nowadays, and about one year later the second demo was recorded. (It was also then we changed name from "Eternal Chaos" to "Ethereal") This one's called "Diseased Existence" and included 3 tracks. About 2 weeks after the demo was finnished we played live with legendary death-rollerz "Entombed", and was a big experience for us!
- THE COMA...
For a full year after that things went kind of slow in the band, and only 2 new songs where made. These two where later recorded in December 2004 in our own rehearsal-place studio and was released in January 2005. We got alot of great response to the demo but we never really felt that it got finnished to it's fullest potential! Therefore no demos were ever sent to recordlabels, reviews and such... only a couple of liveshows where made, with bands like "Transport League", and it was also in this period we decided to get a seperate singer (Totte) so that Mikael could focus 100% on the guitar playing.., though he still does some back-vocals.
- THE AWAKENING...
In September 2006 Ethereal started rehearsing for the new demo that is due to be recorded during the fall/winter '06 when Alexander suddenly moved to Japan for studies. A new bassplayer (Robert) was soon found in a couple of days and couldn't fit more perfectly in the band. And here we are now; rehearsing for a gig and the demo!
So what equipment does Ethereal use? :
Gibson/Esp guitars, Peavey 5150 mk II/6505+ tops and Marshall cabs, Pearl drums, Peavey Bass/Bass amp.
