About Me

I've been a dedicated metal maniac for about 19 years [20-21 years if you count Europe as metal].
It all began when I borrowed a tape with Iron Maiden <[i>Killers],Twisted Sister <[i>Come Out and Play] and Mötley Crüe <[i>Shout at the Devil] from a friend back in 1989 and suddenly it was Metallica, Slayer and a tons of other thrash metal bands, I thought it couldn't be more heavy, but then I heard Sepultura's "Innerself" <[i>Beneath the Remains] and Death's "Living Monstrosity" [from probably the best death metal album ever Spiritual Healing] in 1990 and I was hooked, my taste in music hasn't changed for the softer since.
I used to be webmaster for the Danish metal magazine Metalized . I was that for about three years, but quit in late 2003 mainly because everything was falling apart, but also because I wanted to contribute more actively to the underground so I made my own fanzine Supreme Brutality back in 2003 and that has given me a unique opportunity to make interviews and write reviews which I'm very thankful for. Supreme Brutality only focuses on death metal, grindcore and goregrind. Alongside this I also write for Antenna , but I don’t contribute as much as I used to do. Since 2006 I’ve also had the honour of helping Metal Royale with a few tiny things. I haven’t contributed much, but hopefully I’ll be able to help out again at some point.
As I've already written I almost only listen to death metal nowadays and in particular the brutal US-styled kind of death metal that bands like Suffocation, Origin, Inveracity, Gorgasm and Nile play. I also like grindcore in the vein of Nasum and Pig Destroyer as well as goregrind like XXX Maniak, Lymphatic Phlegm, Blood Duster and The County Medical Examiners.
I do enjoy other less brutal styles of metal as well and it happens now and then that I put some Iron Maiden, Motörhead, Mercyful Fate, Artillery, Solitude Aeturnus or Heathen in the CD-player.
I dislike/don't care about most of the so-called newer generation of metal that is put out today.
