About Me

History
Junkplanet started as the solo project of John Brainlove (singer, writer, Brainlove Records founder). A 20-minute record of splattering electronic punk and soporific squiggling was released, and he was seen live supporting Max Tundra, Kid Carpet, Kevin Blechdom, Bishi and Planningtorock amongst others. He was joined in late 2006 by Christopher Alcock (sometimes seen gracing the stage and the airwaves with Mystery Jets and Jeremy Warmsley). The two developed a gently experimental, mutually antagonistic, semi-improvised but still song-based live show and played widely with bands like Gay Against You, Ebony Bones, Agaskodo Teliverek and Napoleon IIIrd. The project garnered radio play from such luminaries as Steve Lamacq and John Kennedy, and they were invited to perform on Xfm sessions with Jeremy Warmsley and Pagan Wanderer Lu. They parted ways in Summer 2007. Drone choir A Monster! is the next variant, named after a Hammer Horror film sort of, coming soon.
