About Me
TOMMY INGHAM - LEAD VOCALS
Born and raised in Detroit Mi. Both parents were professional singers at one time and as a kid I was cutting teeth on big band stuff like Glen Miller and Tommy Dorsey. I started my singing career at 16 in a typical high school garage band. Things moved pretty fast from that point. In 1983 I joined up with Detroits eastside wonder EZRA and started paying dues in the clubs. A little green but with the heart of a lion I joined forces with WEAPONS in 1985.
We had two studio releases, Captive Audience and Second Thoughts along with a live show recorded at the MARQUEE CLUB in LONDON, ENGLAND.
In 1988 After a Brief stint with L.A Band RACER X I returned to Detroit to front the band ROMEO ROCK. Winning Yamahas International Sound check competition best unsigned vocalist for two consecutive years (broadcast nationally on Fox). I was also featured on the cover of Gig Magazine in December of 1989.
In 1993 I put together PLOW. This was a group with a little darker edge to it. After spending time in Germany the band came back to release the c.d. Jake in 1995.
Ive worked with a few other groups since then and spent a lot of time writing and recording for others. Some of the people I have had the pleasure of working with over the years are ROB TYNER (MC5 fame), SEBASTIAN BACH (Skid Row), JOHNNY Bee BADANJEK (The Rockets, Romantics) and many others.
This reformation of the GAYDOS, INGHAM, BANKERT team, along with the infamous GUNNER ROSS, has proved to be nothing less than stellar. I am truly in awe of the talent that these boys have to share and consider it an honor to be part of the group again.
JOEY GAYDOS - GUITAR,VOCALS
For me it all really started after 1973 when I formed a band called MUGSY. Although MUGSY would prove to be a great live act we only managed to release a single 45. In 1980 MUGSY evolved into a brief but eventful outing know as CUB KODA and the POINTS. That lasted 2 years and we spit out 1 album, CUB KODA and the POINTS, and an EP called SHAKE YO' CAKES. Before Cubs passing we re-united for one last time in 2000 and released NOISE MONKEYS.
In 1982 MUGSY reformed and by 1985 had turned into yet another incarnation called WEAPONS. WEAPONS released two albums, CAPTIVE AUDIENCE and SECOND THOUGHTS. I formed AZ.U.R (pronounced: as-you-are) late in the eighties and we put out my favorite CD, ROCK LIKE PIGZ. Simultaneously I recorded a CD with ROB TYNER (lead singer-MC5) called BLOOD BROTHERS. I then took an off ramp into blues-ville and released a self titled CD called GUITAR JOEY and the BEST .In 2002 I had the pleasure of recording some solo guitar tracks for a great local singer/songwriter NICK PIUNTI, who was releasing his debut CD. In 2005, NICK, drummer DONN DENISTON, bassist PETE BANKERT, and myself formed THE RESPECTABLES, and released our self titled CD.
After an endless stream of clubs, concerts, national and international tours, 2006 has found me working with some of my past peers, namely GUNNER ROSS from THE ALMIGHTY STRUT, TOMMY INGHAM, from WEAPONS, and PETE BANKERT, from MUGSY. We are now collectively know as SEND MORE COPS. Together once again to reek havoc on societys eardrums.
GUNNER ROSS - DRUMS, VOCALS
I First gained national recognition in the late 70s with the Detroit based band THE ALMIGHTY STRUT. Our single CHEAP THRILL LOOKS became a regional hit and gained us featured interviews in CREAM, CIRCUS, and PENTHOUSE magazines. ROLLING STONE named me one of the top 40 drummers in the world. In 1986 I hooked up with RICKY MEDLOCKE and for the next 3 years became the drummer for BLACKFOOT, During this period we toured the world and released what would be BLACKFOOTS last album, MEDICINE MAN .
From 1989 thru 1997 I toured and recorded with the Motor Citys guitar icon, TED NUGENT. My drumming was featured on the single FRED BEAR, which became Teds biggest selling record to date. During this period I also recorded THE SPIRIT OF THE WILD CD.
PETE BANKERT - BASS
Basically, If ya dont know me, blow me! All seriousness aside, look at Joes bio, I was in 90% of all those bands! Ok, for those of you who have gotten this far, heres some other fun facts you may or may not know.
I recorded and played bass on the CD, LAST GREAT RIDE by DARK CARNIVAL, which was released on the SYMPATHY FOR THE RECORD INDUSTRY label and featured guitarist RON ASHETON of IGGY and the STOOGES fame.
I also appear on the IN YOUR HONOR DVD, by the FOO FIGHTERS. I have owned and operated several recording studios in Michigan, and recently recorded 2 songs for the new FOGHAT release, FOGHAT LIVE II, at my current location, ROCK CITY STUDIO, in Ann Arbor, Mi.
