Horse Play Records is an exciting new label from Cambridge, England. Started by Johny Davies and Ben Vincett, it features artists from around the region who share a passion for electronic music. The label is based around house and miminmal techno sounds. Tracks range from dancefloor orientated, energetic tracks through to glitchy click house and techno tracks. The first release cam out November 2006 and featured two tracks by Le Jockey, the border community esque 'Stable Boy' and the low slung yet up beat title track 'Olivers Twisted'. The second release followed in April 2007 with a four track EP titled 'Chew The Whale Fat'. This had tracks from Le Jockey, Udre Udre, Dave Kelso and Tom Akam. Both have recieved critical acclaim, with plays from DJs such as Mark-Henning, MrC, Ewan Pearson, Alex Smoke, to name but a few. A new EP is in the pipeline due for release early June and collaborations with Clever Music and Mark-Henning are planned for later in the year.
