HIGHER LEVEL HIP HOP FOR LIFE

About Me

He is a legendary artist, performer and song-writer known for his uplifting songs, easy to relate to anthems, amazing freestyle talent and crowd rocking dynamics. Kamonzis ability to relate to the streets, youth culture, politics, social issues, and conscience circles gives him a wide range of listeners and fans that encompass every walk of life. His timeless style transcends the rules and boundaries of Hip Hop.Kamonzi started his passion for rhymes in the mid-eighties as a youth growing up in Milwaukees urban jungle. He quickly rose up through the ranks and started performing and opening up for various acts. As a youth Kamonzi lists many different kinds of Musical influences on his development as an entertainer. I have been influenced by everyone from George Clinton to Fleetwood Mac to Bob Marley and the Wailers states KamonziIn the early nineties King Kamonzi formed a crew called the Kali Tribe, which enjoyed a considerable amount of fame at the time. The Kali Tribe wound up signing a single deal with Solar Records and had a video for the song Getting Bigger in rotation on BET during the summer of 1993. In 1996 Kamonzi formed a Hip Hop organization called Black Yard made up of emcees, b-boys, poets, singers, dancers and graffiti artists. In the same year Kamonzi recorded four songs for Speech of Arrested Development. In the late nineties Kamonzis career was to go through another crucial turning point when he met Afrika Bambaataa and joined the Universal Zulu Nation. Now with the backing of an organization with the same mission he had an outlet for his music. King Kamonzi recorded three songs (Got that Vibe, Dark Matter, Sally) for Afrika Bambaataas latest album Dark Matter released on Tommy Boy Records in 2004.King Kamonzi has toured and currently tours with Afrika Bambaataa on the national and international circuit. In 2004 Kamonzi and Bambaataa did a two-week tour of Japan performing in front of enthusiastic crowds at Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto and Nagata. Kamonzi went on tour again with Bambaataa during the summer of 2005. This time they went back to Japan and then on to South Korea, Germany, Switzerland and Spain. Everywhere they went Kamonzi was received well by the crowd. Hip Hop has taught me many things about life, but one stands out more than any otherand that is on a universal level all people and crowds are the same exclaims KamonziKing Kamonzi is currently working on a high power album. I want this next project to go down in Hip Hop history as the missing element he says. He plans to have some guest appearances from rappers from Japan, Germany and Cameron as well as production from Milwaukees E-Ill, Bronx deejay Hek Tek and D.J. Premier. What started off as a talent of freestyling on street corners, playgrounds, parks and showcases would grow into a lifelong ambition that would take him across the planet.
