MIZ IMA STARR PRESENTS THE CHEQUE TO THE WINNER OF 'AUSTRALIA'S GOT TALENT'Singing drag supernova Miz Ima Starr has unleashed eight theatrical cabaret shows to audiences across Australasia, starred in numerous short films and a feature film, and made more than 20 singing and comedy television appearances since her ..birth' in 1991.She has presented eight seasons of her most widely toured cabaret show "Born Free" in Australia and New Zealand to rave reviews. "Born Free" was awarded 'Best Interstate Solo Show of 2002' by dB Magazine.Since relocating to Australia, Miz Ima Starr has produced a number of successful new stage shows, and currently has four shows touring in repertoire, including "Born Free"."Welcome to Wherthehellawee!", the second part of her autobiographical cabaret trilogy, received a clean sweep of excellent reviews at the 2004 Adelaide Fringe.Her first disco cabaret extravaganza in eight years, "Up The Disco", was commissioned for the 2005 Adelaide Cabaret Festival, and was a critically lauded sell-out show.She recently launched the first season of her interactive cabaret "You Asked For It" at the Adelaide Fringe.
TELEVISION AND FILM: In addition to her recent splash on "AGT", Ima has appeared as chanteuse and wit on more than 20 television shows across Australasia, including "Good Morning New Zealand", "Nightline", "AM Adelaide", "Queer Nation", "2 Newsnight", Nightline", 7pm Report", "A Bit More After Ten", "60 Minutes" and "Havoc". She appeared in numerous short films and music videos made in Auckland, New Zealand during the '90s, and had a colourful role in the 1999 NZ hit film "I'll Make You Happy".RECORDINGS: Miz Ima Starr collaborated with techno supremos Baitercell in 1999 to record and release 'Trippin', a remake of the rock classic by New Zealand superband PUSHPUSH. The song was selected as part of the soundtrack for the feature film "I'll Make You Happy", and was released by the famous Flying Nun label on the official soundtrack album. In 2001, she released her CD "Pop Object", which included studio tracks, live tracks, and comedy monologues. it was reviewed as 'pure pop genius' by DNA Magazine.MIZ IMA STARR CAREER HIGHLIGHTS: Performing a season at the Sydney Opera House in "Gender [Off]ender"; the whole beautiful 'Trippin' experience - recording the single, promotions, being bought by Flying Nun Records, making the music video; "Homecoming Queen", the documentary about her life and times, screening at festivals all over the world; and having a full profile dedicated to her life and times on New Zealand's "60 Minutes".
