About Me

MyGen Profile GeneratorA lone assassin. A disgruntled Communist. A puppet assassin used to take the blame. A willing participant in an assassination conspiracy. All the major scenarios - all wrong.
OSWALD: the movie is a psychological thriller based upon extensive research and analysis of the known facts combined with a psychological analysis of the man behind the facts. The only reasonable conclusion is this: Lee Harvey Oswald spent years devoting his life fully to the pursuit of a career as a secret agent for the United States government. From the time he was a teenage Civil Air Patrol member until his death he pursued what he thought was a patriotic and adventurous life in espionage. He joined the Marines and served as a military intelligence agent, a CIA operative and an FBI informant, believing all the time in the righteousness of his purpose. He worked in a Top Secret capacity in the Marines, was trained in espionage techniques and taught the Russian language; he immediately defected after leaving the Corps. He was unsuccessful as a double agent in Russia, either due to his ineptitude for the job or other forces outside of his control. After returning to the United States he continued his quest somewhat haphazardly under the supervision of a loose cartel of agents, super-patriots and anti-communist (and anti-American) operatives.
OSWALD is told from the point of view of the protagonist. He is in virtually every scene and the viewer knows what he knows. Only occasionally do we glimpse the behind the scenes machinations which would culminate in his being the expendable patsy in the assassination of President Kennedy. The assassination is not seen because Oswald did not see it. His attempts to intervene were ignored by the FBI and his actions after the fact are seen as a means of both protecting himself and of providing information to a traitorous contact. Many questions are not answered, because Lee did not know all the answers. However, he knew a lot of other things which we learn as the plot unfolds.
OSWALD was written by a clinical psychologist, writer and artist from Florida named Dale Posey. This is his first screenplay. As it is a first person drama, there is little need for costly special effects and locations. It is a small budget movie with a limited focus and maximal psychological impact. There is a huge audience for a film which attempts to tell the truth about this crucial act in this crucial historical era; look at the success of the recent Emilio Estevez film, Bobby.
I am also currently working on a graphic novel version of the play which I intend to sell as soon as completed. This would serve as a pre-made set of preliminary story boards for the film.
I have no contacts in the film world except for you. This would be an excellent start for a new film maker in search of a vehicle to break out in the industry with a controversial and intimate film guaranteed to garner attention. Let’s discuss how we can get this film made. It’s an important story that needs to be told now.
