About Me

Pine Magazine likes fun. And solid journalism. And a good story.

My Interests

News and politics, music, pretty pictures and stories.

I'd like to meet:

Everyone, for the most part, and people who go to pine-magazine.com, almost most of all!

Music:

We like all kinds of things, including Mastodon, the Drive By Truckers, the Black Lips, Lucero, Caddle, Tenement Halls, the Rosebuds, Elf Power, Hope for a Golden Summer, Portastatic, Spoon, Gringo Star, The Roy Owens Jr., the Preakness, the Wayne Williams, Lay Down Mains, Brass Castle, as far as regional goes (and we know we're missing a few hundred). Oh, and we absolutely LOVE Harvey Milk. Past that, we dig on the Black Heart Procession, Three Mile Pilot, the RZA, TV on the Radio, Yo La Tengo, Mr. Tube and the Flying Objects, Tokyo Police Club, Professor Murder, Biggie, Enon, Band of Horses, Cat Power, DJ Shadow, Les Savy Fav, the Wrens, Tapes 'N Tapes, Be Your Own Pet, the Flaming Lips, Richard Buckner, White Whale, the Hold Steady, Alejandro Escovedo...

Television:

Turn off that TV and get your ass to a venue to see creativity unfold right before your very eyes! Some places to check out -- the Bottletree in Birmingham, Lenny's in Atlanta, the Cat's Cradle in Chapel Hill...Music not your thing? Check out your local independent art gallery. Or go by a used book. Or a record, for lord's sake.

Heroes:

Everyone can be a hero.
