TV Party formed about a week or two before our first gig. With an aim to do something different. (Pfft, how cliche is that?) Well, we aimed to have fun and to entertain folks with our tasty blend of homegrown energetic, uplifting and lively garagey/hard rock/alternative rock. In fact, take that back. Why pigeon hole yourself to into a "genre", we just play our own music and be entertained.
We took our name from a Black Flag song, one of the main bands that inspired us to form TV Party. Also its a kind of protest, what's the deal with all these young bands in and around the area who take themselves way too seriously and have really serious "omg I'm so deep and emotional" names, you know what I mean. Thats just like generic, "I write sad soppy 'emo' songs like every other band out the now". So we thought we'd pick a name that shows we're out to have fun! You know TV, people like TV and Party, people really like parties.
We have played quite a handful of gigs at places such as the Cathouse, Sound Haus, Paisley Town Hall, local youth clubs and festivals yada yada. We plan to add to our ever expanding array of originals and covers. We record on an eight-track recorder that isn't exactly perfect quality but does it's job well!
