BIOGRAPHY
Henrik Mossberg was born in 1971 and started playing the piano at an early age. As a teenager he played keyboards with various local bands and artists in his Swedish home town.
Henrik studied Engineering Physics, Mathematics and Computer Science for three years at Chalmers University of Technology. But gradually passion for music took over completely and he made a final switch of direction and graduated a couple of years later with a degree in church music.
Henrik regularly appears as a freelance jazz and gospel pianist in various settings. He has played on many albums, performed on radio and television and played with many of Sweden’s top artists on national scenes and abroad.
Henrik released his first jazz solo album "Comments" in 2005 (Imogena, IGCD 121), which has received excellent reviews from the Swedish press. The album features Svante Thuresson, vocals, Jan Allan, trumpet, Erik Norström, saxophone, Thomas Markusson, bass, Terje Sundby, drums and Henrik Mossberg on piano.
In 2006, Henrik composed a gospel mass which already has become part of the repertoire of many Swedish gospel choirs. The mass was released on sheet music and CD . Besides gospel music, Henrik’s compositions include choral music, jazz, big band and songs for solo voice. Many of his compositions are published.
