Thank goodness the pen is mightier than the sword. Swords are too heavy.

About Me

Author M. B. Weston is one of the fantasy genre’s new, emerging voices. The Elysian Chronicles , her fantasy series about guardian angel warfare and treason, has been referred to as, “…filling a big part of the void that will be left by the final Harry Potter,” by award-winning author, Vincent O’Neil. The first book in the series, A Prophecy Forgotten , was published in March 2007 by ArcheBooks Publishing, Inc. , and its sequel, Out of the Shadows , is slated for release in 2008. The Elysian Chronicles is also being adapted into a graphic novel series by Wandering Sage Press, Inc., with M. B. Weston penning the script and KISS comic book artist, Adam Black, doing the art. A Prophecy Forgotten: The Graphic Novel is slated for publication in 2009.
Weston is known as a gifted orator and often speaks at writers conference workshops and panels , classrooms , and science fiction & fantasy conventions about the craft of writing and the process of getting published. Weston is also a radio talk show host for The Final Cut in Movies , the show that puts science fiction and fantasy movies center stage, with Ad Astra Radio , an internet science fiction and fantasy talk radio station. The Final Cut in Movies can also be downloaded as a podcast at M. B. Weston's Podcasts site or on iTunes .

My Interests

..--I'm the biggest New York Yankees fan south of the Mason-Dixon Line, and I love watching baseball.
--If it's not baseball season, football will do. Go Tampa Bay Buccaneers!
--I'm a serious latte lover--Starbucks, PJ's, Barnies, it doesn't matter. I'll stop at any coffee shop.
--Disney World is my happy place, and yes, I look for the hidden mickeys. I've found quite a few, too.
--I love the color lavender.
--I have a serious toe-nail polish fetish.
--I love to sing. I sing in the shower, in the car--anywhere no one can hear me.
--I love to jog. It gets me outside in the fresh air. Unfortunately, I can only jog at night from May until November because it's so darn hot in Naples.
Favorite Things:
--2% Grande Iced Lattes, coffee shop not important
--In December: Starbucks Skinny Gingerbread Lattes w/ Whip
--Ben & Jerry's Chunky Monkey and Cherry Garcia ice-cream
--Dark Chocolate
--Anything made with Dark Chocolate
--Hot tea. My favorite flavor is Earl Grey. My favorite green tea is Cherry Blossom Green Tea from Harney & Sons. (I'm starting to see an oral fixation problem here.)
--Anything in the purple family: lavender, plum, violet--except for bright "school colors" purple.
--Old Country Roses--the pattern
--I love the intricate designs of fine china. The flowers, colors, I think it's so pretty. That's why I collect:
--Tea Pots & Tea Cups
--Laila by Gier Ness. (I think that's how you spell his name.) It's a Norwegian perfume I discovered in the Norway Showcase at EPCOT. It's the only perfume I wear.

I'd like to meet:

Nice people with genuine concern for others.

Music:

Anything but ultra-hard stuff

Movies:

Fantasy (duh), Science Fiction (double duh), Action/adventure, cloak & dagger, anything but cheesy comedy and preachy drama

Television:

Yankees Baseball (preferably on YES), Football, Law & Order, The Food Network.

Books:

The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings, The Chronicles of Narnia, Star Trek, The Mummy, Indiana Jones, Grisham, Clancy....

Heroes:

Aside from the obvious answer, Jesus Christ (who as my personal savior gets to be my ultimate hero), my heroes are the soldiers who put their lives on the line so I can live through the day without experiencing another 9-11.
