Ocean Springs was a stupendus time of wondrus fun!! The weather was wet and bone chillingly cold, but that didn't stop our mission to throw beads to the droves of families that suffered the cold to see us! My jingling dance number down the stairs of St. John's was a complete SMASH!! It was soooo good, there were litterally tears and laughter issuing forth at the same time!! (eep!!)
The Ocean Springs Renaissnace Festival has been a great group of people that I am proud to call friends! Can't wait to see them all again in May!
SEPTEMBER 2007
Onward and forward to the wide world of DRAGONCON in Atlanta, Georgia!! We had an absolute blast!!!
Well the greatest story of my adventures in DragonConland would most certainly have to be Brent Spiner. For those of my friends that are not big fans, you know him best as Data from Star Trek: The Next Generation.
So, I was in line for Mr. Spiner's autograph, all dressed up in my Wench Knott best, my Pooty Pirate at my side. We made it to the front of the line. Mr. Spiner looked up at me and then asked if he could get a picture of me. A PICTURE OF ME!!!! I'm supposed to be taking pictures of him!!!
Next think I know, I'm backing up from the table so that one of the most famous Star Trek people can take a picture of me.
So I walk back up to the table to get my signed photo and Mr. Spiner noticed that My Pooty Pirate's badge and mine both said Baton Rouge. "So, do you know this beautiful lady?" he asked of my Pooty Pirate. "Well yes, she's my girlfriend" was his answer. Next thing we know Mr. Spiner is shooing my Pooty Pirate away!! Giggles Mr. Spiner was hitting on me!!! How awesome!!!
My adventures continue to the Phelps twins that played Fred and George Weasley from Harry Potter, to Claudia Christian from Babylon 5, and many more. Soon, I ended up at Erik Estrada's booth to get a photo signed for my good friend O.P. Next thing I know Mr. Estrada is hugging me tightly in a photo with me!!
My Pooty Pirate had a wonderful run in too. He was at the head of the line for Christopher Judge (Stargate SG1). Well, Michael Shanks' table (Danial Jackson Stargate SG1) was right next to him. He and Mr. Shanks talked for almost half an hour. He was so thirlled.
At one point I came face to face with Claudia Black (Pitch Black, Farscape, and Stargate SG1) when she was coming up a stairwell. She even smiled and winked at me.
My Pooty Pirate and I had an elevator ride with Mr. Corin who had filled in for a season for Mr. Shanks in Stargate SG1. Mr. Corin was even having breakfast about two tables from us one morning. My friend Mike got to go over and meet him too.
Then there was M.B.Weston. I met Ms. Weston at BabelCon a couple of months ago and she and I hit it off really well. She asked me to help her out in the Parade for DragonCon. I was absolutly thrilled to walk with her as one of her Winged Guardian Angels in the Parade. (Parade Pictrues soon to come!!!). My Pooty Pirate and I even helped her with her signing sessions where I got to shake hands with the Director of DragonCon and the Director of OmegaCon, who was asking her to be a guest at their next convention.
All in all we had a wonderful time. Wench Knott was a hit with the stars. There were thousands in various costumes (pics soon to come) that you know had to have taken much time and love to create. Kudos to all who made this trip fantastic!! Much love to Justin and Rich for the Executive Suite!! Much love to the Candyman!! Much love to all my friends who got up early on Saturday to see me in the Parade!! Much love to my Pooty Pirate who made sure that I was the time of my life!!
OCTOBER 2007
My next stop was the Annual Haunted Backyard hosted by The Acandiana Medieval Faire's own Wife of Bath (Jackie). It was loads of fun. I got to see plenty of people that I hadn't seen since the Faire back in April. Kudos to Jackie for such a wonderful time!!!
I'd like to meet:
There are many throughout history that I would love to have just one day with... Just one day to be a fly on their wall and watch the magic they create. Motzart, Da Vinci, Bach, Janice Joplin, any of the historical castrotti tenors, Steven Speilburg, Sara Douglas, Joss Weadon, Sarah Brightman, Dan Brown, Ewan McGreggor, Pavaratti, Evanescence, Elizabeth Hayden, Jennifer Roberson, Jean Auel, Robert Jordan, Puccini.
And there are many, many more. But...
The select few would be:
My Great Grandfather, Zenon, who I have never met, but feel as though I know him through all the family stories.
And all my extended family in Europe.
