About Me

Played with various artists as a sideman, mostly funk, pop and blues. This is first solo release..It is hard to believe after listening this delightfully interesting and cool project that its Michael Landin's first solo release. But alast it is Some 15 years after the original seed was planted. The Danish guitarist was inspired by the chill-out music scene to create ON A CLEAR DAY.However, he set out to do it with a slight twist... Live in the studio with musicians. And boy did Michael recruit some fine musicians! Brothers Per and Sven Lindvall on drums and bass, Dan Hemmer on Hammond and keyboards, Jacob Andersen on percussion, and Janus Soliand on vocals... Plus a handful of killer contributions from other high quality players. From the sound of things, Jazz is very much alive and well in Denmark. ON A CLEAR DAY is the perfect soundtrack to a chill day, where youre just hangin but at the same time looking for a little energy and something you can hang your hat onto. While smooth is the main ingredient, the music is deep with tight grooves, and exceptional musicianship. This is jazz peoples jazz... Throw in some French vocals for fun (Watije), a little jazz rappin and scattin (Wes Montgomerys Four on Six, and Billies Bounce), toss in a sweet, sweet jazzy version of What A Wonderful World, a smooth and gripping cover of Miles Davis All Blues and some in-the-pocket Smooth Jazz on Badminton and youve got a diverse, yet creatively consistent recording of chilled jazz.
