GODIVA was founded by Mitch Koontz (bass) and Peter Gander (Drums) at the beginning of 2001. With Sammy Lasagni (guitar) and Steve Papacharitos (guitar - joined 2007 to replace Moses B. Fernandez) as well as ex Victory-shouter Fernando Garcia they found the perfect line-up.
Under the direction of the successful producers Tom Naumann and Achim Köhler they released already 2003 their self-titled debut album "GODIVA", which did not remain unnoticed by the scene and received excellent reviews.
With their second album "Call Me Under 666", which again was produced by Achim Köhler and released in 2005, GODIVA were able to exceed all expectations and earned themselves a name in the metal-scene.
With a series of shows as opener of bands like Freedom Call, Vicious Rumours, Primal Fear, Dokken, Y+T, GODIVA convinced also as live-band.
The concert series in summer 2006 with two stadium shows in Greece as opener of The Scorpions and Whitesnake, inspired the public and put it immediately under the spell of GODIVA.
Their third album "Destruction" (released September, 28th 2007) was produced by the renonwned Dennis Ward and mastered by Mika Jussila at Finnvox Studios in Helsinki, Finland. Through this collaboration with Dennis and Mika, GODIVA recorded another metal album, which will stand any comparison with renowned bands and sure will mark another milestone in the history of GODIVA.
Coinciding with the release of their latest record, GODIVA went on European tour supporting the Swiss Hard Rockers from SHAKRA, touring three countries in 14 days with great feedback!
The hard and modern riffing of the two guitarists Sammy Lasagni und Steve Papacharitos, a driving groove from the rhythm section Mitch Koontz (bass) and Peter Gander (drums) as well as the unique, charismatic melodic heavy-voice of Fernando Garcia give GODIVA its unprecedented characteristics, which live up to all expectations even in live performance.
