It has been said that only the greatest artist have what it takes to go by just one name. It requires amazing vocal chops, trendsetting style, a magnetic personality, and of course that special something otherwise known as star quality. Following in the footsteps of some of the greatest "one namers" such as Whitney, Mary, Mariah, Janet, and most recently Brandy, Beyonce, and Ciara, the one and only Chivon is destined to make her mark on the music industry and the world.
Chivon was born and raised in Setttle, Washington. Where she began singing as early as she could speak. She cultivated her gift singing both in church and in local shows throughout her hometown. At home her house was filled with the music of soul singers such as Aretha Franklin and Luther Vandross. And the radio and TV were introducing her to popstars like Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston. It was a combination that would eventually cultivate a voice and persona filled with the class and sofistication of the past along with the edge, charisma and urgency of current pop cluture.
Chivon perfected her skills while attending Berklee College of Music where she as much for amazing style and beauty as she was for her unparalleled vocal abiltiy. After graduation, she was immediately whisked away to sing background for Alicia Keys on the Eurpoean leg of tour. Not long after, Chivon was was tapped to sing background for Atlantic Records artist Tamia for North American Tour.
Since then Chivon has worked with and supported numerous artists both in the studio and on the road and has recorded with some of America's very best producers, musicians and songwriters.
