About Me

I have been absent from the scene. To now the particulars read my latest blog "Where Have I Been."

The Electric Son is a Jazz/Rock, Jazz/Funk Quartet led by Omar Cayasso. The band originally started as a trio based on an electronica concept that eventually evolved into a Jazz/Rock band.

Since its inception in 1991, the band has gone through many personnel changes (Editions) thus affecting the direction of the band at any one point. Usually, it is the basic rhythm section of electric bass, drums and electric guitar with the addition of a horn player. The band plays original songs as well as Jazz Standards that are usually arranged in the style of the band. For the most part, they are very intricate pieces that rely on the improvisational skill of the band members. As time goes on, improvising is pivotal to making this band what it is.

The Electric Son performs and records in the Los Angeles area and is always evolving into a progressive genre of skilled players.
