Votur started to play together in 1998, made a couple of concerts and recorded their first demo in year 2000 at Cold Jin Studio by Linus Nirbrant (This Ending, ex. A Canorous Quintet, ex. Guidance of Sin). At that time Votur started to get a name in the Stockholm metal scen. The Singer Fredik Jurefors was forced to quit because of physical problems.
Their Second demo Planet Cemetery was recorded in 2001 (Cold Jin Studio, Linus Nirbrant) with the long time friend and singer MÃ¥rten Hansen on vocals. This five track demo was later released on Nocturnal Music as a CDm. It was sold world wide and opened up a lot of doors, more concerts with amongst many Amon Amarth, Sins of Omission.
In year 2002 the last two songs were recorded Thevil and Lost in Oblivion (Cold Jin Studio, Linus Nirbrant). With no energy to continue the band took a break to focus on their other bands and in Jake and Andys case, to study music production.
At the Bridgestock Festival August 2006 in Stockholm Votur made a success filled reunion concert. New drummer Lea Larsson impressed the crowd and with anger and energy like never before Votur has showed that they are back to complete their task.
