About Me

Reviews:
”..this is what ’grunge’ meant before it became the preserve of laxative ballads and Puddle Of Mudd videos” // KERRANG! - March 2008
"..a collection of good songs groaning to escape.” // KERRANG! - March 2008
"No song sounds like it's sung or played half-assed, as the band storms through the record with the over-spilling aggression of a suicidal freight train driver. This creates lots of buzzing moments on the album, tempting one to jump off the walls whilst thrashing along to their surprisingly catchy songs. Yes, there are moments where the choruses are so irresistible that they just draw you into singing along, whether you wanted it or not." // ROCKFREAKS.NET - May 2008
"I'm sure you'll agree that in the current musical landscape, these guys from Stockholm bring a breath of fresh air.” // CONCRETEWEB.BE - March 2008
GRUNGE/HARDCORE TRIO FROM STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN
"Based in Stockholm, HAPPY TRASH CULTURE gradually formed over a few years, finally getting a sense of direction and their name in 2001.
Paying homage to early 90’s rock/punk bands like Sonic Youth and Mudhoney, the band play their own brand of grunge hard-core with a political undertone and Chris Isaak influences. Their debut release 'Comparing The Comfort' is music straight from the heart with just a 'little bit' of irony.
They have played several small Swedish festivals; been featured on public service radio and played on TV NORD's 'Dromedar' programme when they shared the stage with a Christmas tree and a stuffed camel!
The thing about Happy Trash Culture is that they do not claim to sound different to every other band they just believe other bands don't sound like HTC. Neither do other bands play bass guitars that once belonged to infamous Swedish cop-killers as David once did!"
