INTRODUCTION
I started my dj career in the year 2000. In the beginning, my main interest was turntablism so I started practicing the basics of scratching and beat juggling. After that, started spinning at my first parties and loved it so much that I began concentrating myself more on the club aspect of dj'ing. Although I do consider myself a technical DJ, I never really participated in DJ-Battles. Except for the “Party DJ Battle 2007” @ Vleugel F ( Louvain , BE) where I took second place after DJ Dysfunkshunal. I've already had the club rockin' on numerous parties, mostly in my hometown. I was a resident DJ @ R&B Nights (Plectrum) but unfortunately this concept got cancelled. I'm also resident DJ at all the Hip Hop related ‘Wiseguys' events. So it's safe to say I'm here to stay.
My music choice goes from hip hop and R&B to dancehall, from the underground to the radio and back. Because I spin a wide range of styles within these genres of music, I‘m able to bring versatility to the table. I'm not just the average club dj who just spins hits, I always try to incorporate some new music and technical elements into my sets.
Like lots of people who have a passion for music, I also wanted to produce my own. Since SEP 2005 I got really heavy into making beats. For the moment, I'm working with a Korg Triton LE and a PC. I play everything myself, no samples. I do love sampled beats but I don't really like making them. That's why I started to learn how to play the keys, I just love sitting behind my keyboard and play around to get some ideas. I actually only use my computer for drums and a bit of sequencing; all the rest is done on the Triton LE. I'm not really into the whole software producer type thing. Apart from the Triton LE and a pc, my setup consists of a M-Audio Audiophile Delta 2496 soundcard, M-Audio BX8a studio monitors, 2 Technics SL-1200MK2 turntables, a Vestax PMC-05 pro2 mixer, Rane Serato Scratch Live and a HP Pavilion laptop. It's still pretty basic but I'm hoping to expand in the future.
