Did It For The Money
Release: OUT NOW***AVAILABLE VIA DIGITAL DOWNLOAD**Weedy Factory are set on putting the fun back into pop. Their latest single ‘Did It For the Money’ infuses 21st century funk riffs, old school break downs and Dave Wiltsher’s vocal japery to create a refreshing style that exists in a world somewhere between Jamiroquai, James Brown and Tribe Called Quest.Never ones to take themselves too seriously the Weedy Factory are on a mission to take a stand against the diamond encrusted ego mania that has taken over the charts recently. It would appear that MTV have joined the cause, as they shot the ‘Did it For the Money’ video in their Camden studios. While this kind of support for an independent band releasing their first single would seem surprising, The Weedy Factory have always been received very well by the industry. When they did a small white label run at the beginning of the year of a demo a track called ‘The Love Game’, they received plays on Kiss, XFM, Radio 6, and support from the likes of Patrick Forge, DJ Greenpeace and Herbalizer. No wonder they are confident about the forthcoming album, which has been two years in the making and is set for release early next year.
