INSTRUMENTAL QUARTER
"More math and essential than the Rachels, less psychedelic than Dirty Three, but with analogies with their melancholic moods, I think to the atmospheres painted by Brian Eno in his Green world, to a smoother Julian Cope or to a Robert Wyatt sharper and darker. The music of Instrumental Quarter drips from the tips of low-hanging icicles. It rises like a green fog inhaling the world. It evokes a natural setting morning, midday, night, all wrapped up in a warm blanket of coastal tectonics. The sound of their violin, their electric piano and the arpeggios of the acoustic guitar translate the sensation of witnessing and being surrounded by nature into a musical output that is quite laid back, and moody. They're inspired by the patterns and frameworks found in the natural world. So it is natural to see this as a soundtrack to any activity away from the hustle and bustle of the world of cars, traffic, noise and pollution".

"Hailing from Turin, Italy, the four young men of Kash (Stefano Abba' - Vocals, Paride Lanciani - Guitar, Luigi Racca - Bass, and Giacomo Abba' - Drums). The tastes here are robust, intrepid and intense, just like the cuisine of their home country. Sit down at the table with Kash, and you will soon experience many different flavors all rolled into one. Hints of post-rock intermingle with traces of no-wave. Driving, angular melodies are followed by an aftertaste of sparse, impassioned soundscapes. Some may detect the sweetness of US Maple, while others may construe the bold textures of Captain Beefheart. This whole array is then spiced up even further as guest musicians Steve Sostak (Sweep The Leg Johnny, ZZZZ) and Mitch Cheney (Rumah Sakit, Sweep The Leg Johnny) ad their own special ingredients to the mix. Open is such a satisfying experience, it might have you wiping the sweat from your brow and patting your gut as you exclaim 'That is one spicy meatball!' ".
